2 litre Touring Car Star is heading for a stewards' enquiry!
Probably better still to say no passing til the exit of the first corner?

In Supercars in Australia, and it has filtered down to lower classes as well, cars must keep to within 5 car lengths of the car in front so that combined with the weaving ban has reduced start straight incidents.

They should. Do away with that ridiculous no passing until the start line rule. Lead driver stays at SC pace until green lights/flags. and when they happen, go racing. Easy.

Fully aware of that thanks ole fella - works well too (other than for 1 team at Bathurst but let's not go there). Would be more complicated for F1 due to the reduced lap time / pace requirement under SC - would make something quite straightforward get very complicated (but then this IS F1).

Well it could certainly be spectacular - the last couple of corners in particular at some tracks could be pretty nuts. Would need a 2nd SC sitting at pit exit to collect the field again after the ensuing mess.
