Race 11 - Scratch race

9 starters; 9 finishers

The final race of an excellent, if wet day, this was over 5 laps split into capacity classes.

Riley Specials dominated this one with, in Pic 1, Robert Cobden (5), Tye Pountney (12) and Pete Candy (31) heading the field over the Mountain on the first lap. Next time round Pountney overdid it coming into the Mountain and finished on the grass. It dropped him to 4th behind the Type 51 Bugatti of Stephen Shoosmith (32) - see pic 2. He recovered to 3rd but it cost him a lot of time and he was half a minute behind Cobden and Candy at the finish. 45 is the Alvsis 12/70 Special of Robin Everall who finished 7th. John Polson was none too pleased with his 8th place finish in the Talbot AV105 (42) as he has advised us. Paul Murphy cresting the brow in Hall Bends, in the Bentley (115). He finished last. Finally a close up of Paul Everington, who took his Bugatti T35B to 5th.
