Sportscar World Championship

Do you think Sportscar Racing would benefit if we had a similiar situation to the 80s, where there was World Championship for Europe and other countries, and a seperate American series. Both had great manufacturer support. Would this work know, the Don Panoz ALMS could concentrate on America, while the FIA Sportscar and GT Championships could combine for a World Endurance Championship.

I think it would be a great idea..whether it work or not I dont know.

but it seems that poeple would like to see it.

these are the results of the weekly poll i did on this very question a while back.

Poll topic: Should the FIA re-introduce a World Championship for
Sportscar racing?

*yes 82.9% (39 votes)
*No 10.6% (5 votes)
*Unsure 6.3% (3 votes)

so it seems that the majority of the public want to see it but whether the FIA want to do it another question ..after all it would compete with F1 and take away from bernie's retirement fund.

Daisy the cow should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Class rules and restrictions are the number one problem there. Nobody wants to change the formula of their series. Engine manufacturers will have to change configurations or capacities. Some teams may go under.

I agree its the way of the future for Sportscar Racing. Its not a question of surviving im my opinion. This is more a question of Sportscar thriving, and a World series is the best way to do it, because it unifies all of those with a similar passion, making them as a group more powerful, dynamic and stable, for the Sportscar Racing future.
