Are you claiming that HARD. are not preparing the car safely though? Surely that would be a matter for the scrutineers rather than making the accusation here? |

I have not made any accusations, just made a factual statement.
I suggest you read exactly what I wrote, not what you think I did, it's not difficult! |

Just for clarity - are you saying that the following is factually correct: 'A car prepared by HARD. is not as safe as others on the grid?' If that is the case, would it not be better to raise that concern officially rather than criticise the team on a public forum? |

anyone noticed there is some kind of curse in winning a BTCC title 3rd time in a row? ? 2009 Giovanardi came close but failed, a few years later Shedden also lost the 3rd time and now Turkington Last edited by porsche962fan; 22 Nov 2020 at 21:36. |

Three drivers have managed it in the past - a few more have only taken two in a row. Many more have failed to defend their title. |

It's due to circumstances really and I think it won't be easy if more and more teams and drivers get up there, as we are likely to see a bit more drivers winning the title. Anyone who wins two in the row has done well, three in a row is very difficult, especially with so many good drivers up there
As you say it's been done in the past, but not in the recent past, although there have been a few who have come close, but just failed. As a matter of fact winning a title is hard enough, getting another one is hard and getting two in a row would be harder still, especially in this day and age. Anyway we had a great title fight this season and it was fun to watch, just a shame Cammish, Tingram and Butcher didn't get quite have enough to take it all the way, we'll see what happens next season, which teams and drivers will be the form guide |

Whixh is more likely to happen with Ciceley?
-Buy two previously raced in '20 chassis. -Buy two brand new unraced cars. -Build new cars from an existing brand which raced in '20. -Build new cars from a new to the grid brand. -Build new cars from a returning brand. They have experience of building brand new cars. They have a title sponsor signed up for multiple years. Lots of potential cars fit the hybrid NGTC-era dawning. You don't need a manufacturer to be able to put a new car on the grid so previous motorsport presence not necessary. Anybodywilling to socially distance camp outside Willie Poole? |

I don't know the Morgan's or anyone at the team well enough to have even the slightest inkling; my guess would be new build as, as you say, they've done it before and it turned out alright. Well far better than just alright.
What if they're ahead of the curve and Willie has already wafted the magic wand around... a spy up a hill top near Ciceley Towers might be where one is needed. Or the more brazen rock up, knock on the door and a furtive glance around all whilst dressed as a parcel courier... |

While it seems like an easy choice to go and buy a car from someone (Motorbase Focus, Dynamics Honda, etc) - you are limited in what can be done with it to extract more performance.

Hearing about the issues that Laser Tools had with attempting to develop the A-Class, and BTC's experience with the FK8, I suspect Ciceley wouldn't want to be on the other side of that situation.

A C-class seems like the most probable option at the moment from a few sources.
A 3-way fight for the title between a 3-series, a Q50 and a C-class in 2021 would lead to a lovely season here discussing the FWD/RWD debate that some love to have...... |

Thinking out loud, does the regs allow a Tesla Model 3 to be fitted with a TOCA engine? Anything saying electric cars can't be base cars?

I'm not sure if regulations say anything about it at all but for me it seems like it wouldn't make much sense.

I think some are very optimistic, the market for gas cars hasn’t died yet

I'll call it as an A Class. Then I can continue with my splendid record of getting it spectacularly wrong... probably!

Wonder if there any new Mercs in the pipeline for the series? Something to replace the A Class. At the moment we are waiting to hear what the teams are doing next year, but I wonder how many teams will end up with different makes? Maybe different models too

To be eligible for homologation, the car needs to be on sale through the normal manufacturer's showroom network. If the sale of pure-ICE vehicles is prohibited, they won't be in the showroom and so not eligible. It wouldn't look good for BTCC to amend the homologation criteria to allow outdated models to go through the process. |
