Yeah was wondering the same. Quite a few privateers were rumoured to be after the WEC contract.
The quote does imply "full factory", but nothing to say that still couldn't be run by someone else. Quote:

Like the livery on the Beemer, however the shape makes it look like a monster from the deep. Or maybe a manta ray. Certainly might take some getting used to

I still dislike the straight edged engine cover fin, I much prefer the solutions that Ferrari and Porsche have come up with.

The cockpits always seem so large, larger than LMP1, is there some kind of minimum dimensions that they have to adhere to by regulation?

LMH/GTP cockpits are supposed to be larger than LMP1 in terms of width and height.

I think drivers find it very nice that they have a cockpit that fits all shapes and sizes. Makes for a better drive for the racers.

I remember a few years ago David Cheng (of Jackie Chan DC Racing) talked about actively trying to persuade a Chinese brand to enter the top class of racing. Now with the new (and cheaper) regulations and more competition, it seems like a good time to do so. Is there any news or are there any rumors about a Chinese brand entering?

The one that owns Lotus was looking into it. Tata was as well, for the Jaguar name.
Wouldn't be surprised if both make some announcement by '24. |

That would be Geely. If they enter, I guess entering with Lynk & Co is the most likely.

Obviously it's big GT3 news but looks like WRT have set the chain in motion - https://sportscar365.com/sro/world-c...urrent-season/
Putting two and two together has them running those WEC works cars on behalf of BMW. For sure Audi seems to be a sinking ship right now in terms of sportscars. |

Whatever Audi's plans in motorsport, I hope sportscars isn't a major one going forward, because that's exactly what this looks like from the outside. Edit - I wonder how many Audi factory drivers are going to move in unison. I can't see D. Vanthoor, KvDL, Rast, Frijns, Vervisch etc. sticking around with just scaled-back customer seats. We know Weerts & Rossi are partnered to WRT specifically, BMW will have a field day with the latter's promotions. Last edited by J Jay; 2 Aug 2022 at 10:20. |

Some are doing DTM as well. Do they want to continue? With Audi or is there a possibility with BMW? Vervisch is doing another series with Audi as well. Some are doing ADAC GT and/or NLS (VLN) as well. |

It was going to happen, can't to see how it goes in competition. We'll have to see which drivers are free in the near future....

Hopefully we'll also see another P2 dress rehearsal in '23 to give Valentino some much need time in the sportscar seat!

Is this the factory effort or as well as?
And does this confirm no BMW at Le Mans in ‘23? |
