Montin stalled at the start of the second leg. He came back to third position but he went out after a contact with Yuji Ide (Autosport says it was with Kogure, but I'm not sure).

Autosport is right... Montin went out after being tipped into a spin by Takashi Kogure.

I was a bit dissapointed with James Courtney, being the British F3 champion Id have expected a bit more from him, ok I mean I know it was his rookie race at Maccau but a good driver can learn a track in what, 20 laps?

British motorsport websites on Monday morning only had a very annoying article about Robbie Kerr whinging about how he would have finished on the podium!
Having won the British championship...as the 'underdog'...and boy didn't he let us know it! What is he doing moaning about Macau?...He crashed heavily on his outlap first practice!...(everyone knows the streets are dirty first time out, everytime out) He qualified way down...finishing 10th in the first leg...He was only 8th fastest in sector 1. and 9th fastest in sector 2. His fastest lap was a full second slower than Kathikeyan's...AND crashes in the second leg on the first lap! "I could have been on the podium"...Yeah right! |

Rennen - i don't think that was whinging - i think that he was stating a fact -- its true if he had't of crashed he could have got a podium finish !!
And i also think that winning both the scholarship F3 and the main F3 championships back to back is worth shouting about - or do you think thats no great feit. Actually has anyone ever done that before or is he the first !! |

I think Kerr said that because of Kogure who finished third. The Japanese was on his side on the grid. Last edited by Shunt the Hunt; 20 Nov 2002 at 20:49. |
