So if Matt is saying Shedden is working on a comeback, that further thickens the plot. If Motorbase get something together, could definitely see him there

Flash has had Tunnock sponsorship on his helmet as recently as his last BTCC season. It's not Mr Tunnocks thing, but a Scottish firm sponsoring a Scotsman is a sound bit of spending of marketing budget. Especially if the canny Scotsman gets lots of media coverage.

You need to get backing from wherever you find it. Flash was lucky to get that. But there’s plenty of it out there, just need to find the right sponsors

Thinking back to Adam Weavers comment about PMR looking like having it most successful line up for 2020, it could actually still be JP & Collard as JP has more wins than last year & both have more podiums. Just a thought...............

Well, he might have something we are not expecting. Plato, we need proper confirmation he is staying, while Collard, I feel could be doing something else. If it’s not Plato though, then who else could it be? We’ll wait to see who is going to be his team mate

Maybe going to entice Drambuie back to the BTCC and have a retro Ian Forrest (an other driver with Knockhill connections) style livery?

What is going on with Plato - didn't he sign a 3 year deal with PMR?

Also, Vauxhall have just released a new Insignia GSI with a 2.0l turbo - so Plato may have his wanted engine

Yes, and although there are likely get out clauses for both parties I cannot see why either would wish to exercise them. JP and the car clearly worked well, he's started winning again, 100 wins in sight. Presumably sponsorship deals to still be sorted.

It's just JP playing games. He knows how to work the media and all of this is just keeping his name (and therefore thoughts of his backers) in the spotlight when there's nothing really happening...

This.

Plato is by far the best at PR and gaining sponsorship and pleasing sponsors by gaining maximum exposure.

It's interesting seeing how certain statuses of signings/reveals is viewed here.

Plato - says he hasn't got a deal in place yet and is hailed as being a great PR manipulator!
Motorbase - may already have a deal in place, but are not going public yet and are described as shambolic!

I don't know all the ins and outs at Motorbase, but I made my prediction a few pages ago about them, but the reason Motorbase are being seen in a more negative light by some is that they have previous, and even with strong backing and relatively strong driver line-ups they seem to have gone backwards year on year for a number of years now. They did kinda shoot themselves in the foot with the Mat Jackson saga though, as anyone who knows the actual full story there will know. That could all change if their plans come to fruition for 2020 though.....

Everyone knows what Plato is all about and I'm sure everyone on here would be shocked if he wasn't racing for PMR next season, so we all assume he's doing what he does very well and it's working, just as it always does.

Thats, why he's so detested he's the king of the game and no one, comes close.

How has no one in the last 20 plus years realised its all just an act.

The Neal plato stuff is all over hyped for example.

Speak for yourself. I certainly don't detest him. I admire him for being in the sport so long and putting many deals together. Being Mr Bland doesn't cut it in modern motorsport. How many so-called "talents" struggle to get a drive every year while drivers who raise a bit of emotion (good or bad) like Plato and now Creesy manage to get the good drives?

He's said himself many times it's all panto and he chose to be the villain.
