No outrage. I have decided to just reset my expectations as to how the rules are applied. It's just a role of the dice. This is the new normal, or maybe the old normal? Kudos to Riccardo for leaving the track, forcing Norris off via his unsafe reentry and then immediately passing an Alfa by going four wheels off. Perez tries to do the right thing and gets a penalty. These days the stewards decisions is the most entertaining part of F1.
I think I saw Riccardo is under investigation? Would McLaren push the issue with their engine partner? Will the stewards rule against Renault at the French GP? Maybe, maybe not. Richard |

the excitement of the last lap scrap with 4 cars was the high point of a race that will i think live as long in the memory as no forgotten it already, a very poor race indeed

Not much of a race, shame the cameras were away when the most exciting bit came on the last lap. Shame for Norris, McLaren are finally getting somewhere at least. And as for Ricciardo, well if you have that much runoff, what do you expect? It’s like leaving your door open when you’re out or at night and wondering why you got robbed
Anyway let’s hope Austria is better |

Just finished the replay...not sure whether to happy or sad that the marshal moved fast enough to grab that bollard and prevent the race ending under a yellow.
Lots of talk about bollards though so i guess they are the real winners today! |

I thought the race, if you can call it that, was bollards.

Remember the tyre bundles that were tried at Monza once back in the 90s? To my mind the only thing wrong with them was that they weren't tethered. so they rolled any which way when someone nudged them. Put them on a short tether and they would likely damage the suspension if you hit them (so don't hit them!) but they wouldn't be a danger. |
