Validating the NC Monaro 427?

This rumour is totally unsubstantiated but worth repeating if for no other reason than to see what anyone else might have heard.
The guff is that HSV and Holden will go ahead with the HRT427 coupe (or whatever they might now want to call it) but will be building it in New Zealand.
Not quite sure why but anyway....
Word I heard is that the 100 car build number is still in force. Nothing about when the car will (will it ever?) be released.
Can anyone add anything to this?

I think Peter Brock, Ross Palmer and Motorsport Developement New Zeland ( I think that is their correct name) are doing the project not HSV or Holden.

Do they have a plant in NZ?

Maybe they could assemble there if the low volume production reg's were "looser" and then import into Australia (that would be some loophole if the case).

I could care less about the "validation" aspect (I think it has been clearly demonstrated that Nations Cup is not PRODUCTION based), but would be nice to see a big banger Monaro on the road (even if it was only (!?!) 6.0 rather than 7.0 litres .

This is a link to a thread where Ross Palmer talks about Motorsport Brands in New Zealand building the 427 Monaro

So this would seem to suggest the cars will be far less "out there" than the HSV427 would have been, otherwise the cost of building the cars to that standard - and getting Australian compliance for them - would be prohibitive.
Or does the 100-only build number get around that little problem?

The 100 Monaros are to be built here. I hope they are being built by a reputable source.

Given events of recent months, the sir name Lawrence won't be a part of it, one would suspect.

Interestingly, 60 are to be built in left-hand drive, hinting that they may juice up the Yanks a little more than us locally, or that the cost may make sales prohibitive in this part of the world.

I can't wait to see the specs actually.
