Call me a kill joy, but I hope it doesn't become an Olympic sport. There are certain things that should be in the olympics and motorsport is just too technical, too costly and unworkable. No way.

I agree with Tristan.

The IOC needs to concentrate upon more appropriate sports such as Synchronized Swimming, Ice Dancing and Rythmic Gymnastics

Motor racing definitely shouldn't become an olympic sport. It sounds like a ridiculous idea. I agree with Tristan - motorsport is costly enough at the moment without extra cost being added for teams to compete in the Olympics.

EEROS,

I've seen a couple of movies on Rhythmic Gymnastics. I'd take that any day over motorsport.

Motorsport will never be olympic..it costs too much and for the fact that it's forbidden to have sponsors this can't be realized. But carting...lol...maybe!

Olympic Karting - great idea! And it would help train the next generation of racers as well.

As far as "True Olympic Sports" I don't think the Greeks knew a lot about bobsledding, skiing or whatever that is you do on skis with a gun. Personally I never watch the Summer Olympics.

Oh, wait, how about Olympic Ice Racing?

Oh, I LOVE the Olympics. But I just dont really see how motorsport fits in with the faster-higher-stronger philospohy. I KNOW you have to be really fit and everything to be able to drive an F1 car, but you dont exactly need to be at the absolute peak of human performance do you?? And with regard to Rythmic Gymnastics etc. I'd like to see any one of us even TRY to do it!!!

I don't know Tristan, it is inexpensive to try, just tie on a length of toilet paper to a brocken hockey stick and you have the makings of Rythmic Gymnastics.
If we need motorsport in the Olympics I'll vote for Moto Cross on the world championship level. Moto Cross riders at the international level are considered the fittest athletes of any sport.
