Egg [iV8SC13R10,R11,R12] Chill Perth 360, Barbagallo Raceway WA: 3-5 May

9 championship races so far.. 7 winners...

A Ford at the top of the championship.. and not the one you might think..

Tension in the paddock between teams, between drivers.. sometimes their own teams...

We should see the impact of an engine upgrade for each of the Erebus AMG cars, and the Nismo Altimas in Perth..

... and 888 with a rejuvenated self, if history is anything to go by...

Plenty of racing, overtaking and all to come...

.... the 360 format (like Tasmania) of 2x 60km 'half races' becoming one race on the Saturday and 2x 100km races on the Sunday...

Who to win?

#14?

Wonder if push to pass will come in to play, or will it be single file racing, could a few others have a crack at the top , has Red Bull backed a team finally caught up to byt hte otherss, should make for interesting racing

Hope it's got a bit more go than the existing units.

I wonder if the noise will be different?

A risk doing both at the same time?

Yes because multiple podium finishes and vast improvements in performance as the year has progressed thus far is just horrendous.

There were a few times in the last race where the camera was pointing behind Courtney and he was gradually pulling away from one of the FPR cars down the straights, so they certainly are not struggling with engine performance compared to the others, so for them to say they have some nice upgrades on the way will be worrying for the rest. Might be driveability upgrades as well, and those teamed with improved front suspension might make them mighty out of the corners.

Going to assume Erebus's engine upgrades are cable throttles and individual throttle bodies (why they thought they could get away with only duel throttle bodies is beyond me, the throttle response must be horrible out of corners). I wouldn't be surprised to see them with Nissan in Perth.

The only one that could be unhappy is GT, since ALL of the team's cars are reasonably competitive.

The answer is an obvious one, however as I said they are competitive this year and consistently so. Before the season started, if you had told them where they would be at this time, i am sure they would have taken it.
No they haven't won, but at least they are knocking on the door.
Personally i couldn't care if they do win or not, however their team being competitive again adds to the championship.

Nismo Fixes LDM Commodore

..which should be 'right' for Perth...

Taking bets that it will have issues in WA?

This leads to 3 interesting possibilities

1. V8 supercars read my earlier comment and went and questioned lowndes on his form in the sprint races.
2. Peckstar knew what v8supercars were going to write
3. Lowndes really does have a problem with the sprint race format, which interestingly enough he though would suit him before the tassie round started.

My opinion Lowndes has jumped the shark.

IMO, CL needs a change and a new challenge before he totally loses interest. Yes the challenge is there to win the championship, however I believe he is headed for the dreaded burn out.
It's a bit difficult to get a read on anything that he is saying ATM as i don't think he knows what he wants.
Does anybody see it the same ?

Burn out, another option, its a fair point. it must be difficult to watch your team mate win the championship every year (and to be the bridesmaid)

To also see some of your peers racing at top level championships OS would also be a drag

Craig is 40 next year (not saying thats a bad thing, but in modern motorsport its not a good thing)

Mr Lowndes said the car suited him, but since R1 he hasn't really figured much in the results.

Yeh, Brighty has been nowhere since he turned 40!

In V8 Supercars ,more than any other form of motorsport, you are only as good as your car.

So your suggesting that Craig has a bad car? better or worse than his team mate. did it suddenly get bad after Clipsal?
