V8 Fireworks should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Compare the pair...

It's not a massive difference really, given the regulatory requirements.
  • The A-pillar is about 10-cm further forward (necessitating longer doors too), as the real Mustang's long bonnet does not fit the COTF's A-pillar position.
  • The top of the roof is a bit higher to clear the roll cage (approx 5cm).
  • Since the OE bonnet shape cannot be used because of the moved A-pillar, therefore the front of the bonnet has been restyled to be a bit lower and shorter, either for performance or to comply to a maximum length rule.
  • The Supercar Mustang is narrower (approx 5cm) than a real Mustang, due to the maximum width rule and mandated track in Supercars.

You'd think it would be easier to redesign the assortment of tubes (to avoid repositioning the A-pillar and height so dramatically) and allow the Mustang a wider track, so it could best represent the road model... But apparently that was too hard.

Perhaps a compromise where the roofline, A-pillar, doors and width stay "wrong" but the front of the bonnet is restyled closer to factory?

It still looks wrong though, you can't just move the A-pillar 10cm forwards and raise the roof by 5cm and expect the car to look right...
