Thats some great stuff Tony! I have'nt been to Werrington since I was a kid, glad they still use it - is the one at Tregrehane still in use too? Love those camera angles, have to save up my pennies and get you down to Matchams for the kart racing one day.

I think Werrington only has a couple of meetings a year, traditionally one in April and I forget when the other is. However theres always the hillclimb up by Exeter for you to go to, and do they still have one at Oddicombe in Torquay? Otherwise get yourself over to Dunkeswell for the karting - you might even see Mansell racing in the 177s!

No just the one now it would seem, so you have missed it for this year. However if you check the ASWMC's website (put it in google) you should find out what else is going on around the South-West.

BTW Ol Boy are you the Ponsonbys of Mutley Plain, or the dynasty of the same name from Efford?

Try the following site:

www.cornishmotorsport.co.uk

Also if you want to join in the fun then email Plymouth Motor Club at:

PMCMembership@blueyonder.co.uk

The South West region has the most competitors of any in the country with both Hillclimbs and Sprints being well supported.

Oh and if you take the kids to Dunkeswell they will want karts, so hide your wallet. Or get your butler to do it.

I did Werrington about 4 years ago in a Mallock, By far the most enjoyable hillclimb weekend I ever had. The course is superb and managing to not lift over the cattle grid was the biggest buzz ever!!!!

If you have never been its a must!!

I know a lot of people get a buzz from negotiating the cattle grid but just think a moment; if the grid wasn't there I believe that Werrington could possibly hold a British Hillclimb Championship round. I know there are other logistical problems (like how do you get all those campervans into the venue!) but they are surmountable. Unfortunately the cattle grid is the initial sticking point.
