Nice touch to have the minute's silences in the programme.

A nice mark of respect to have in the program. I just hope, as it's on the GP curcuit that they announce the start and finishs over the PC radios, as no PA system on the loop.

I'm hoping to be able to bring my son - will need a family friendly post though as he is 12. Anyone know where camping is for this meeting?

I'd be interested to know exactly where the camping is too. Looked at the map for marshals which has two areas for marshals camping. It's my first time marshalling at Brands so I'm not sure which they use.

Also, has anyone had their tickets yet? I've not received mine yet.

Cheers,

Camping will be in grey car park according to the instructions.

If you are expecting paper tickets, not sure when Mildred would have done these but it might be worth dropping her an email.

Similarly if you want a "family friendly" post then make sure you have let Mildred know.

I've emailed Mildred and I have also received my paper tickets. Thanks for the info on camping, much appreciated. Got 3 twilight shifts and then planning a relatively early start on Friday to take a little stroll round the paddock that evening.

I'll be bringing a friend along for this one. Missed out on this weekend's Sunday bit, so I'm keen to be out again.

OK, will do, thanks. Could someone PM me with Mildred's email please? Have tried to look it up but couldn't find it.

Is there an entry list available for this weekend? My son is interested in how many GTs will be on the grid.

I'll see you on Sunday, can't resist GTs.
Just remember, regarding the Mclarens, if one comes off, Do NOT push it from the centre at the back. The exhausts are about waist high in the centre and, if it starts up, you will be barbequed!

Thanks to all the team on P9 over the weekend, a pleasure to work with you. Good work particularly for the cars coming off end of session.

Hope to see Charlie back marshalling soon after his taster day with us on Sunday.

See folks around

I am a Specialist marshal, but was on a "busman's holiday" on Sunday as I took a US work colleague to Brands Hatch for the day. He is involved with a couple of Nascar teams back home, and hasn't had much experience of "road style racing" as he calls our circuit racing. He had a ball and absolutely loved both the venue and the racing! We stood at various points round the circuit during the day and he asked me to explain what the marshal teams were up to, flagging, I/O, driver first responder, fire cover, etc.......only for a car to come off in the gravel trap in front of us ..... and the marshals to react exactly how I had said they would. Phew ...... that was a relief, he is now very impressed with the standard of marshal training and believes everything I tell him! Well done to all the guys and girls in orange, you looked like you all had a good day, and thanks to the teams and drivers for a cracking day of racing. And a special thanks to the Course car driver (sorry didn't get your name), who took my colleague (and me) round on two of his round-up trips.....I'm not sure how they're going to get a grin that big into the plane to go back to US!

probably Nick Turner of MSVR

He took me round to be put into the snug passenger seat of that very very rapid Caterham 620R (as in 620 BHP per tonne). I tried to wave to some posts, but the forces acting on me were.... substantial.

Ah, I was wondering what variety of Caterham that was!
