ozywoodwards should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Blue Flags (again)

This weekends GP reminded me of something that's allways pussled me, namely when you have a faster driver trying to unlap himself (as DC was behind Irvine at this GP) should the marshalls show a blue flag, or should the leading car be able to defend his position?

I think they didn't create F1 rules thinking on special circumstances like this one..., that's why you see that confused Marshal showing a blue flag to Bernoldi.
So, about your "unlaping" question, There's no rule respecting that... it's a driver decision to let him pass or not.

I seem to remember that in the early 90's the 'blue flag rule' didn't exist and it was up to the lead drivers to make their own way through traffic. This is what allowed people like Senna and Prost to be so great as they were decisive in traffic. There was never any room for complaint either and I beleave the drivers were more 'gentelmanly' about letting leaders through. Today backmarkers are expected to jump out of the way the minute a leader comes up behind them, when they don't they get trashed because of it. I say return to the early 90's without the stupid blue flag rule we have today.
