Talking Pictures Channel - Stock Cars

A (very) short film being repeated on the Talking Pictures channel this Friday 23rd October at 07:35.

It seems to be a UK stock car event in the late 1960s, it is in a rural setting and there appears to be a pretty big crowd. Lack of leaves on the trees suggest early Spring or late Autumn.

Any thoughts as to the venue?

I noticed some of the stock cars used cut down narrowed Mini bodyshells for the rear section, no idea of the venue though.

Some 1960's USA Stock Cars are also on Talking Pictures this Friday...

Film: Red Line 7000 (1965) on Friday 23rd Oct at 11.10pm was produced, directed and co-written by the Howard Hawks. "Excitement, romance and danger abound in this tale of US stock car racing. Racing fans will love the classic cars, which star alongside James Caan and Laura Devon. The lives and passions of a stock car team are revealed against the turbulent backdrop of the professional racing world."

Part of the rules for UK F1 Stockcars is that there needs to be a recognisable part of the body work from a road car.
I saw Redline 7000 at the cinema when it came out in the late 50’s!!!

Another chance to see the beautiful Daytona Coupe in Redline 7000 on Talking Pictures TV on Saturday (early) morning. Either CSX2287 or CSX2601 depending on which internet entry you believe...
