Dart racing is aiming to be first in the que for Ferraris new proposed 575 Maranello GT challenger according to this weeks AUTOSPORT. Dart racing boss Alessandro mariani said: "we are waiting on ferraris decison on whether they build the car, but we want to be part of that project."

The team intends to run a 2 car Squad in the FIA GT series in 2003. After running 2 Ferrari 550s in the latter part of 2002. ENDS:/

I really hope this does go ahead if it does it will be a great battle between the BMS 550s, Dart 575s, Listers, Saleens and the Vipers. Can u think of a better situation for 2003?! I cant. <Grins>

Well there has to be some truth in it for AUTOSPORT to get a quote from the team boss and to publish it in their magasine.

I had seen many things in Autosport that never happened...not Autosport fault.

According a Dart responsable, FIA GT Ferrari 550 Maranello project has not been cancelled for next season.

According to what the interview with the team owner, if the cars are available they WILL be raced by the squad.

As far as i can remember the 575 is allready in production. i am 95% sure of this. Unfortunately i dont know how many will be made in time for next season but i recon this is a big project for ferrari so i assume they will have alot of them.

I think they do, they can sell the Ferrari 550s and have almost enough cash for the cars.

the 575 goes 202mph, its a fast and powerfull car, and i am sure that if they sold the 550's they would have nerly ebough fo 2 575's. stands to sense.

If they put the 550's up for sale that doesn't mean that someone would actually buy them.

lol it dosent mean some race team would buy them - but Im sure somoene would, if not a private collector would likely by them.

U can say the same about anything, if Oreca put their Dallaras up for sale for instance that dosent mean someone would buy them either. Although someone would, there are always lots of enthusiasts or amatuer racers looking to buy 2nd hand race cars.

For all u know the 2 Ferrari 550s could end up in a national series say the British GT Series or Spanish GT. There is NO reason why someone woudnt buy them..
