I see that Ticktum has fully endeared himself to racing fans far and wide today

schoolboy error - saying what everyone is thinking but isn't daft enough to say out loud will always get you in trouble...

Combination of factors. And tbh, I don't value Ticktums opinion too highly anyway. Might as well ask Marko what he thinks of Vettel and Riccy leaving RBR. It'll be equally unbiased and totally the truth. |

You’d think he’d have had time to learn a few things during his ban. Obviously not. Probably end up serving burgers. And spitting in them...

Danish Frederik Vesti will race for VAR for the final round of F3 European Championship at Hockenheim, but don't know whether is a 4-car entry or replacing current drivers' seat

Well Schumacher suddenly becoming an F1 prospect is dubious, but a Prema car dominating in F3 (Schwartzman has been up there too), coupled with the slow but sure increase in the form of both drivers, is hardly a shock. Ticktum has been to inconsistent all season really, not had enough dominant weekends, and now Mick is having them he's gaining more points than the rest - not shocking at all.

Then again, maybe manufacturers care more about the talent they see rather than a famous last name. Maybe Schwartzman and/or Armstrong turn up to be better prospects than Schumacher Jr to Ferrari? It's not because you had a famous father that you inherited his talent or determination (see Josh Hill ?, the Mansell sons ?), on the other hand the son can also be a gazillion times better than the father (see: Max Verstappen) Time will (probably) tell. |

Odd season at one point was Armstrong vs Ticktum vs Vips.Aron up there too.
Mid season Mick has a pair of 3rds as his best results, until that spa win. Ticktum suddenly loses all speed. Armstrong as well, and a total of 9 retirements - easily the most in the entire field. Vips isn't really as fast anymore and it leaves Mick and Schwartzman to dominate. I wonder what happened internally at Prema for those 2 to suddenly get so much faster than Armstrong, Aron and Zhou? You could clearly see at one of those races was it Austria... Armstrong had nowhere near the straight line speed as Shwartzman. Schumacher looked like he was doing it easily. Not a surprise Ticktum was making comments about it, but his problem was he wasn't even best of the rest anymore. It'll be interesting to see where they end up next season. Armstrong was originally being looked at moving to Prema F2, but that's got to be off the cards now. Mick was looking at DTM but now he'll be in F2 for sure. Maybe with Shwartzman unless de Vries stays. With Albon, Norris, Russell all gone (surely Markelov and Ghiotto will finally move on too) F2 field will be a weak one for 2019. It could make Micks debut season look very good. |

I find the sudden turnaround of Mick and two of the Prema cars at best suspicious. A car that was off the pace for half a season suddenly becomes a rocketship winning at will.
As an aside a little sad that Michael is probably unaware of his eldest's success. Not in any way a Michael fan, not since Adelaide 1994, but just saying from a humanitarian pov..... |

Are you suggesting that you’d almost think there’s something super-turned-up special in his and Schwartzman’s HWA engines, and that their both about to sign for HWA’s new F2 and F3 (ex-GP3) teams respectively?

The word is that Mick Schumacher will drive for Prema in Formula 2 next season.

The Italian Automobile Club and promoter WSK were selected to run the FIA European "regional F3" championship.
Renault also wants to organize a European "regional F3" championship to replace the FR 2.0 Eurocup. |
