I see from Autosport that GP2 Star Ryan Sharp has been doing some testing work for RSR, is this the same RSR that ran the TVR's in the British GT Championship.

I see that JLR have signed Stephen Simpson and Tom Kimber-Smith, who is returning to the series after a year in the F3 Euroseries.

Bit of a big step-down for Kimber-Smith?

Not really - he wasn't ready for F3 last year, certainly not in the situation he was in - so step back, win and move back up stronger.

What team was he with in F3? IIRC he had some really bad luck.

Tom was with Kolles in Euro F3.

I'm really glad Stephen is back with JLR. Nice guy and deserves a good crack at it.

The Finnish media says Valle Mäkelä (FF1800 brit.champion) will drive UK FRenault in 2005. Any information about that?

I really think he's more talented than Juho Annala (FF1800 scandinavian champ.) who drives for ADR in F3 National class this year. I even consider Markus Niemelä (FF1800 Finnish and Swedish champion, runner-up in Scandinavian championship (drives German FBMW this summer)) faster than Annala.

Valle should get his change in F3 soon. His driven "small formulae" long enough.

the worst thing makela could do now is frenault. he should go into f3. nothing more he could learn in renaults that he couldn't learn in scholarship f3...

Renault is a 2+ year championship so doing it would only make him look bad to his sponsors.

Mmmm what? can't understand what you are talking about. Sorry.

I also think that Valle shoud do F3, not FR. But it seems he doesn't have enough money even for National Class and FR is cheaper(?). I'm not sure if Reima Söderman is still Mäkelä's manager but he sure is a great FF team boss (in Finland and Scandinavia) but I don't think he is the right man to take care of the career of our most talented formula pilot.

Nothing against Team JLR, but the same goes for Kimber-Smith really. Going to Europe last year was a mstake, but he should have stayed in F3 this year and the National Class would have given him the exactly the chance he needs.

What he is saying is that your not going to go and win it in your first year. Almost all the champions have had atleast 2 years in the championship before they win it. Conway, Hamilton, etc.

I see from the list of expected entries on the Renaultsport website that Motaworld are going to run just 2 cars and there does not appear to be any entry at all from Falcon Motorsport - does anyone know if they are planning to enter the BARC series at all?

21 drivers confirmed on that list, good to see Mr Storckenfeldt has sorted himself out a deal with AKA.

Could be an interesting series this year - McIntosh, Storckenfeldt, Hall, Hogan, Jarvis are all going to be right up there and there's going to be somewhat dark horses in the form of Hohethal and maybe James Sutton so things are shaping up for another top year!

Lets hope the quality of the racing can somewhat improve in 2005 though as last year wasn't vintage shall we say.

I agree Gaz, this yaers champ will be Hall, McIntosh, Hogan or Jarvis.

I think that Stuart Hall got the best change coz he has won the winter champ like Conway and he is in his second year like Conway.

Not as yet. There is a big FRenault test at Snetterton next Wednesday and Thrusday so I think more might become clear then.
