CONFEDERATION OF AUSTRALIAN MOTOR SPORT (CAMS) MEDIA RELEASE 13 October 2005 For Immediate Release PARAMOUNT MOTORSPORT APPEAL UPHELD The V8 Supercar National Court of Appeal yesterday handed down its findings on the Paramount Motorsport Appeal, Upholding the appeal by Paramount Motorsport Pty Ltd and setting aside the Stewards' findings and penalty. The appeal, lodged by Paramount Motorsport Pty Ltd, was against a $10,000 fine for a breach of the rules, providing false information to a Stewards' Hearing (B6.5.11). The appeal followed a Stewards' Hearing at Eastern Creek Raceway on 27 May 2005, where it was alleged that Mr Larry Perkins had provided false information at a Stewards Hearing convened on 27 April 2005 at Pukekohe, New Zealand, to hear the charge of reckless driving against Paul Dumbrell. The Stewards' found Mr Larry Perkins was in breach of the rules, providing false information, and imposed a penalty of a fine of $10,000. Paramount Motorsport lodged an appeal against the Stewards' finding and the penalty. The V8 Supercar National Court of Appeal was chaired by Mr John Hardy and assisted by Mr Richard Hardy and Mr Keith McKay. END. Well he's not really $10,000 richer.
It just means he doesnt have to pay a $10,000 fine. |

I was confused when the email came to me, not knowing if he won or lost, now I am still as confused.

It's pretty simple...Perkins lost first up. He appealed the decision to CAMS. The appeal was upheld and the steward's findings were set aside. He wins in the end!

Larry deserves to keep the 10 grand, it will go to both go to car 24, 11 and the engines

Since the $10k was withheld from the franchise licence income payments, its not like he is richer, more that what LP is entitled to has been remunerated to him...

Losing 3 of the 4 cars run by the Perkins equipe to engine issues at Bathurst, and having a couple of engines lunch at PWR at Sandown & Bathurst suggests there might be more issues than a crook batch
