Sets a precedant...though disqualifying a Midland is a bit academic

And finishing in the Top 10 is pretty important.

True. And that can crack a struggling team like Midland...

To finish first, first you have to finish.
I wondered how they'd got those old dogs to go so "well". What they need is TWR to get them going!!!! Though it sounds like they're doing quite a good job without ol' Tom's help. Rob. |

Hopefully this won't be the day which costs them 10th place in the constructors' championship. It also means that Montiero's blocking was even less beneficial to anyone.

Yes, and it amused me slightly that Monteiro complained about Coulthard blocking in qualifying only to get a penalty today for ignoring blue flags.

Is anyone driving a legal car in F1 these days?

At this point
Midland 1x11th, 3x12th, 2x13th plus lots of weaker classified results Super Aguri 1x12th, 1x13th, 1x14th plus weaker results. Almost surely SA needs to get 10th place somewhere to overtake Midland, and hope that Midland wouldn't do the same. It needs a race with lots of retirements. Indy was one of them but both teams suffered double DNF like many others. |

Ferrari still have their movable front wing that caused so much fuss, the mass dampers are legal/not legal/legal again... |

According to Paul Stoddarts version of the concorde agreement (which is a legally binding document),V10 engines are the only engines that should be used up to the end of 2007.So what the hell is "legal"!

How come ferrari got away with just being told to change there front wings but midland get dq'd??
Funny how things are going towards Ferrari at the moment, when they need it most, what with Mass dampers being banned, but then sudenly being allowed again now that Ferrari have a great big points gain under there belt. F1 really needs to sort itself out, I thought they had bought in one group of officals to oversee the whole season, maybe it's easier to 'sway' one group than it is to start fresh every meeting! |

The other way of looking at it is Renault may have got better results with the damper bread maker installed than without it. So if it had been banned at the beginning of the season, perhaps Alonso would not even be leading the championship now.
A consistant FIA would be great. A correct FIA would be great. FIA doing both would be optimal. With teams fighting so hard for every advantage, I suspect they are making it difficult for the FIA to make correct judgements easily and quickly. Therefore, the appearance is that the FIA is making a mess of things. In fact, they could be making a good job of a very protracted and tangled issue. Unfortunately, I may be way of the mark, and there could be other forces at work here. |

I tell you what hasn't there been a lot of talk about these flexible devices. Are the flexible mirrors still allowed?

By the way, shouldn't these mirrors be a damn sight bigger.Max keeps beating his bible about safety, and yet the drivers have to peer into these things at 200mph! They should be E marked and on the mirror should be written "Objects in the rear view mirror may appear closer than they are". |

Cynicism does not necessarily have to be wrong.
As it happens, well, sure, why not? Everyone knows everything the FIA does is with the specific aim of favouring Ferrari. Clearly. |
