Proban Overalls
I have just brought a pair of Advance Wear Overalls they are Nearly new. They have only been used a few times. They are size 44 Chest. But they wont fit me. I want to exghange them for a size 50 chest. If anyone has a pair please get in touch. I have got pictures of the overalls.

on an aside - seeing as drivers all have to wear Nomex 3's how do marshals feel about only being in probans?

Personally i think wearing proban is much better to marshal in than nomex. For a start it's way lighter (have you tried running in nomex?!) and we are told in fire training that if you feel too hot, then you're too close! The difference between drivers and marshals is that if a car goes up in flames, drivers are in it whether they like it or not. Marshals approach the situation and can move back if it's too hot.
We'll always do our upmost to control a fire, but if it's that bad it'll take more than the one or two bottles that are usually taken to an incident. The plan is to try and give enough time for the driver to get out, or for the fire truck to arrive. From attending fire training i know that you can put a fire out by standing quite a way back, certainly far enough away to not get too hot. If we wore nomex, the extra protection could entice us to get too close and actually be more dangerous. Just out of curiosity, how many drivers have attended a fire training session? |

Besides, it's a lot more expensive! |
