i would love to see rebellion finish on a high but to be honest the toyota cars are very unlikely to both fail to finish

Rebellion car is still quick, but it will be very tough to beat Toyota. The only ones who can stop Toyota is themselves. But hopefully Rebellion will put up a good fight and make it a good one to go out on a high on

There are way too many clone Orecas with identical bullet proof tank qualities on the way, the best GTE can hope is 15th, but more likely 20th place

In the old GT1 days they not only had almost as much power as the LMP2s, certainly on the straights at least, but LMP2s were also terrible pieces of unreliable junk for the most part until around 2008. LMP1s were better, but they too had so many variable chassis, engine and component parts that it was inevitable there'd be much more retiring due to mechanical gremlins. You could also get stuck in the gravel much easier than now with asphalt runoff everywhere

In other words, it's impossible to repeat the same trick now that there is much less of a chance of stuff breaking up or getting stuck in the garage/gravel. Ginetta and CLM retiring frees up only 2 spots, and maybe around ~25% of the stock LMP2 Orecas and remaining few non-Orecas getting delayed won't really make that much of difference either.

Maybe if there's oceans of rain you might get freakier results, but in that case they'd probably cruise behind safety car in the style of 2016

Carlin said that it is "possible but unlikely" that the team will be at round three of the ELMS scheduled for Barcelona on August 29 and that it remains "unclear" whether it will take up its entry for what would be its maiden assault on the Le Mans 24 Hour on 19/20 September.

Really, you don't think he's a good actor? I think he's an excellent actor. Did you ever see him in Hunger?

I managed to meet him briefly a few years ago when he was racing Ferrari Challenge at COTA. He was friendly enough. And he had his hot girlfriend with him as well!

Really smart thinking by the team. Had trouble with travel restrictions and finding a good bronze driver. So they decided to use known drivers with experience at Le Mans to overcome the compressed week. Cooper can keep it clean and hopefully that will leave plenty of opportunities for Segal and Vilander to move the car up the order. Heck Krohn was on the GT2 podium in the past, so there is a chance for this car!

Much better actor than Patrick Dempsey...

As amateur driver, long way to go yet though. Can't blame for not doing the 2020 race yet, also it'd probably not been the best first experience anyway given the situation. And next year with LMP1 gone and replaced by much slower head class, there's going to be easier traffic too

Not what I'd call a great lineup :/

I expect this car to get quite some TV time for all the wrong reasons.

Tambay is the son of ex-F1 driver Patrick Tambay, background in single-seaters, DTM and sportscars.

Maris and d'Ansembourg are a couple of gentleman amateurs in their mid-late 50s, usually seen running some very nice cars (Group C XJR-14 and Pug 905 amongst others) in historics, although Maris has been around the ELMS in recent years and has a few LM starts behind him. I think both Tambay and d'Ansembourg are Le Mans rookies- it's certainly not a line-up I'd expect to be anywhere near the pointy end of LMP2...

As for those 25,000 not being allowed at the circuit, I don't really think that's gonna affect the decisions to withdraw or not...

Speaking of withdrawals, I'm surprised ACO hasn't announced any "backdoor entries" into the race yet to replace the 61-62 garages
