Rob Huff? No clashing WTCR commitments and he filled Chilton's PMR seat at Silverstone last year, just a suggestion.
last round of BTCC clashes with China WTCR.

Before you say "oh but its Rock and Knock only", im not sure WSR will want to take that risk

Never intended to but I could understand if WSR were to sideline Collard for the rest of the season.

I was thinking the same. There were rumours at the end of last year that he would step down and concentrate on helping his sons with their careers, although doesn't look like Ricky needs much help in that direction.

I'd have expected Ricky to be at Brands Hatch this weekend, as part of his BMW role.
However he certainly has ambitions of subbing for Rob, so it will be down to whether BMW says yes.

Rob Collard has been a btcc stalwart from the production days to ngtc, if he does retire he will be missed, lot of respect for him. ricky is more than capable of filling the seat and deserves it on his own merit

Rob's driving simply isn't geared around getting the best of a car on a single hot lap. It's all about the longer run, getting into his rhythm and managing the car. I've always thought he would be an excellent GT racer for this reason.

Here's to Rob and his recovery, even if he never returns to the driver's seat.

He just has one British GT meeting left and does not clash with either the Rockingham or Knockhill races (or Silverstone or Brands hatch GP)

Would have liked to see Rob and his son as team-mates like the Jordans were 10 years ago.

And as a further cost cutting measure, Ricky will run as #55, thereby saving the cost of buying more numbers.

The guy made a stupid mistake for sure, but he paid the price and served the penalty. Surely he deserves a second chance?

Unless the plan is for people to drag up the indiscretions of all drivers and judge there severity?

** I am not saying this is something that should be done - in fact probably best to avoid any further mention of legal issues here, even if in the past **

I know that times & opinions have changed by my favourite saloon car (as they were called at the time) racer in the early 1970's was a chap called Gerry Marshall. He was well known for enjoying a drink (in fact his excellent biography was called "Only here for the Beer"!)

I can confirm that fact.

A lasting memory is of Gerry, a couple of other drivers and myself, doing our damnedest to drink the Paddock Bar at Brands dry after a major Redex meeting. At the end of the evening, only Gerry and I were left, and when I next spoke to him we found out that neither of us could remember how we got home to North London.

His reason was that he had won (again), whilst my excuse was that I had suffered my first ever mechanical issue in a heat race that meant that I couldn't make it to the final later that afternoon. A faulty head gasket was to blame.

To summarise driver changes going into Rockingham -

- Ricky Collard replaces Rob Collard (WSR BMW) for Rock and Knock

- Glynn Geddie replaces Boardman / AWE (AmD MG) for the rest of the season

- Ollie Pidgley replaces Hill / Welch (HARD VW) for the rest of the season
