ff1600 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Van Diemen - Road Car

This is a classic -

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Van-Diemen-For...QQcmdZViewItem

I need a new transporter but with this I could just drive to the circuit take the number plate + mud guards off and its ready to race.

heel'n'toe-no has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
It looks a joke......And how can it be road legal without any indicators?
I saw an ebay auction about 2 months ago for a FF1600 Van Diemen (RF87) I think it was, that claimed it had been used on the road, however, the seller had taken all of the road legal bits off because he was intending turning it back in to a race car.

Just laughable - Where do these people get off on this stuff.

Imagine the work involved in keeping the blooming thing clean....and the rust must be a killer! (Quite litterally a KILLER!)

Still you gotta laugh.

In the early 70's I'm sure somebody quite well known did convert a Formula Ford for the road, complete with lights and indicators but I can't remember who it was.

Mind you they didn't have many speed bumps in those days!

Looks a lot like a Formula First to me.

Can you imagine driving home and getting a call from the better half.

"Can you pick some milk & a loaf up please"

Erm.............

"Daytime" MOT allows a vehicle to have no headlights fitted and I suppose you can use hand signals to indicate turns.

Spot on. I have been racking my brain all morning trying to remember who it was - Thanks, I can get on with some work now!

Walshy, Your right it looks like a Formula First. It has a transverse engine.

May just as well have kept it as a race car & whats all that Ferrari box thing just under the air filter all about........obviously has plenty of time on his hands.

Roger Williams, boss of Willhire and occasional saloon car driver also built and drove a Formula Ford on the road. It was white with really detailed graphics and I believe a Lotus chassis. Anyone else remember it?

It's a Formula First with the latter body kit and exhaust (slightly modified).

Larger wheels for ride height.

Ferrari Box is the top of the XR2 engine (sprayed rocker cover).

Good luck to him seen FFirst for £1,500 so bit of spit and polish lights and muds guards nice profit.

Not my taste but probably more fun and cheaper than a skate board and you only going to kill yourself!
