Now I must do some work

(edit: sorry NAC, i do believe i have given you a slightly misleading clue! you did in fact answer the clue correctly in that i had intended to post a pic of BRM's last race in which they succeeded in qualifying, however i mistakenly believed that to be brazil! when in fact they did qualify in the next race in S. Africa... sorry! my apologies.... So the answer was indeed brazil, but i'll give it to you for that)

Well done Paul, got all but the year. Alan was on the money again, year 1975.

Chasis was Penske PC1-002 – Ford Cosworth

1981; Ferrari driven by Pironi, Lotus by Mansell. The venue's tricky, though--presumably one of the US temporary circuits. I'm going to guess Long Beach, as it doesn't look much like a casino car park.

Look at the size of those slicks, by the way! That's what a racing car should look like...

Detroit 1982.

John Watson won from 17th on the grid!

Pironi was 3rd.

Mansell retired

Nice picks guys, Alan you should be banned from here as you are just to good.

The interesting bit from the site I got this from stated that both the JPS Lotus were practice only.

GP USA - Detroit 1982

Ferrari 126 C2 #056 – Ferrari V6 1496cc Turbo
Driven by: Didier Pironi
Result: 3rd (0 laps behind the winner)
Grid: 4th(1:49.903)

Lotus 91 #91/7 – Ford Cosworth DFV V8/90° 4v DOHC 2993cc
Driven by: Nigel Mansell (GB)
Result: practiced only (Original race chassis)
Grid: T-car

RAM is correct, but it's not a RAM built car. Canada is close. Think a few 100 miles south!
