enemy-ace should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Montreal Race Thread (includes RACE Spoilers)

Looks like we are going to have a wet race.
So any bets on who is going to be the Rainmaster?

I expect Pizzonia to be up there as he would have had wet experience in F1 unlike other open wheel drivers in North America currently.
I think Justin Wilson or Junquiera can win if it rains.

Anyone can win in the wet, it's not an alien concept by any means.

Who cares though, it'll be exciting stuff!

I initially thought Bourdais but I do recall Wilson being quite quick in a Minardi in the early stages of a race. Albert Park I think.
However I don't think a Champ Car will be nearly as nimble in the wet as an F1 car. Also considering the lack of wet running, one has to wonder how good of a wet tire Bridgestone will bring. IF Hungaroring is an example the boys (and girl) in Champ Car are in for a long day.

Justin got his only F1 point in a wet race at Indianapolis 2003. Well, changing conditions race anyways, which I guess is different.

Last wet one was Surfer's Paradise I believe.

Looks like the forecasted rain has been decreased by half. Now only 40% chance. Crap long-term forecasts.

Bourdais and Wilson are arguably favourites if it's wet. Should be a good race anyway.

Ticket sales are moving along very well as many Grand Stands are sold out. You can see this on the Montreal even web-site. It seems there are three options available for Champ Car in the Province of Québec for 2007. They are: 1) A return to Gilles Villeneuve circuit if an agreement can be reached 2) Two city circuits in Québec City 3) Mont Trembant. Here is one of the many articles. http://www.monvolant.ca/article/2006.../5876/MVCOURSE

There's a big difference between groved tires and slicks when the track starts to get wet. Bridgestone/firestone never really concentrated on building a great wet tire when they came into Champ Car so I think there's some truth to the fact that as a result champ cars aren't as good in the rain as F1 cars. Champ car also races on a lot of circuits that likely do not have very good drainage. There are no $500M champ car street courses.

It's a shame that both Tag and Ranger aren't higher up for their home event, particularly Ranger with his Montreal specific sponsorship.

Hopefully Bourdais will crash out (uninjured) on the first corner to make the championship more interesting.

I read an article somewhere about this. I guess walmart has never done sponsorship like this ever before, but if it goes well they may consider continuing.
