i was impressed by some of the drivers ability to follow a car for a couple of laps in a row, Button following Massa in the early stages was particularly good.
granted the gimmicks played their part in that and also put an end to it as Webber lost pace to Alonso after a few laps. lots for a driver to worry about now which puts things back in their hands more so i found this a very promising start. 7. |

I skipped through a recording and found it, same old same old. The fact that the BBC were getting all excited about the rear wing opening and closing sort of summed the whole thing up for me.It's got to the point now where i only watch it if i have nothing better to do and even then wonder why i bothered.

a bit biased because i was at the track and got a bit lost as to who was doing what, where and why.... but was great to see and hear the cars going around again. And appreciated some great drives from vettel, hamilton and petrov who looked to be driving outstandingly well. |

I gave it an 8. Enjoyed it on a very picturesque track.
Even the weather good for racing too. |

Gave it an eight, and not just for being the first race of the year.

for me it was an above average race, for Australia pretty standard.
Surprised at how Vettel could just drive off in to the distance, kinda like McLaren in 98 (shame about MW not getting up there). Not at all surprised with Massa, in my mind the most unimpressive driver on the field (hmm heidfield equal I guess). Petrov outstanding solid drive. Good to see McLaren up there after a poor pre season. Looking forward to McLaren kicking some butt soon. |

6 for me.
It was not bad at all, but I've seen better and a lot worse. Some great drives though. Perez impressed as did Petrov. P |

I think all racing fans who are so unhappy with F1 should just download the new iPhone app that alerts them when the race was complete rubbish..

5 - not awesome, not terrible
Perhaps the long anticipation of starting the season with the new "passing" features got me too hyped up, and then it turned out to be pretty much standard, but with a run away win. The setting, the circuit and Petrov's run saved it for me. Looking forward to Malaysia! |

7. Not a classic race by any means but exciting enough to keep me watching from start to finish. Nice to see the season opener taking place at the traditional venue too.
