Well, since there is, at this stage, no evidence one way or the other that they were sandbagging, then my point stands.

My thoughts (and LH by all accounts) are that they *probably* hiding a few tenths, but we won't know for sure until tomorrow.

Just a thought, but perhaps Mclaren were sandbagging? No evidence for that either.

Nice to see that Mclaren can get close to the Red Bulls and take the fight to them, will be a interesting race tommorow I think. As has been said though Hamilton and Vettel are in a class of their own, I dont think Webber and Button will be far behind but unless either of them gets ahead at the start I think it will be a 2 horse race.

Great fight in qually, lets hope it continues in the race. Does anyone know what Red Bull's KERS situation is? It sounded from Vettel's comments that they have it fully up to speed now

Me too. Webber and Button are sword-bearers in this game. Webber can position himself to hinder Hamilton coming back from the pitstops and Button can play a similar game on Vettel but thats about it.

THis was different to normal though. Usually it's a case of "Oh here comes Vettel again to grab pole by 7 tenths. Oh yes, there he goes. Yawn"

But with Mclarens looking a match for the RBR team this weekend, it was genuinely exciting! And although I would have rather Lewis get pole, I can't begrudge Vettel what was a great lap.

why would anyone sandbag during the practice session of a race? i don't see any point to it. the teams don't have enough time as it is to get all their testing done, let alone worry about playing games. if you have a theory please mention it
