2002 Manufacturer's battle...

Does Ford have too much advantage in aero & downforce charisistics?They r way ahead in MFGR's points & have 6 wins,thus far,compared to only 3 wins 4 each of the other MFGR's cars!
Manufacturer's point standings after Michigan r as follows:
1)Ford 104 Leader
2)Chevrolet 82 -22
3)Dodge 76 -28
4)Pontiac 69 -35

Any thoughts on the great disparity in above No's?

I for one do not care anything about the manufacturer's championship in NASCAR. It is totally meaningless, just like the World Driver's Championship in Formula One. Why? Because you can't have a real manufacturer champion in a drivers series (NASCAR) or a driver champion in a manufacturer's series (F1).

24T...my comment comes from the fact that over the past 20 years Chevy has one 15 mfg's championships, Ford has won 4 & Buick 1.

I'll have to dbl check my numbers, but think that is correct.

Finally found the post I made about the Mfg's Title over the past 20 years & here is the correct stats...

chevy won 14 manufacturer's cups, ford 5, buick 1 & pontiac 0.

The topic title is 2001 Manufacturers Battle, yet it appeared to me that the 2002 season was being discussed, I'm not being "picky", I didn't even click on this until now because I thought it was about last year.

It's too early to predict the Manufacturer's Champion.
There are too many races left and anything can happen, JMO.

Topic title is 2002 MFGR's Battle & it is abt this season as regards aero & downforce ad/disadvantages among different Makes & impact on MFGR'rs point standings!Perhaps an eye test is in order
