Just picked up a couple of DVDs

Thought I'd share these with you - really enjoyed them both:

Le Mans: In The Lap Of The Gods - 2 disc set following Martin Short and his Rollcentre team as they return to Le Mans.

Race To Dakar - another 2 disc effort featuring Charley Boorman and his team as they tackle the Dakar Rally. If you enjoyed Long Way Round you'll love this one.

Have you picked up any gems lately?

Gerben24 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I bought Race to Dakar last Thursday (as it is not on telly here). Watched the first 5 episodes. It is not as good as Long way Round, which I thought was brilliant, but it is still very entertaining. I'll be following the Dakar more closely this year!

Osella should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Watched in the Lap of The Gods yesterday - highly recommended. Production values aren't quite all there but it is really good. I know I'm an anorak but both the workshop and race footage would hold my attention if it was longer still.
I am DEEPLY impressed by Shorty and his crew. I'd love this to spark some similar movies - behind the scenes with Hugh Chamberlain or LNT for example. Long live the amateurs at Le Mans!!

Last proper official DVD I bought was the "Faster" DVD set about MotoGP. Absolutely sensational stuff.

I bought it after one of their team members told me about it last week when I was at their workshop, had never heard of it before, very cool I thought! And, yes, how cool would it to see a similar show next year following Hugh's mob?!

It is good, keeps you entertained from start to finish. A really good insight into what it takes to do Le Mans and finish.

I have to say, one of the things required seems to be that you're a good bloke / nice person, and that in itself is both encouraging and instructive!
