" An ambition is realised" you say? Your next mission should you or not accept it is to find a Xmas tree with a huge string of blinking lights.
Take your camera in hand and make pee on the light(s). Then you'll see where a spark of intelligence can come out of your body! I stick to this idea… Depending on the size may be you can switch on the mode macro! |

Well I thought that this year was bad enough already, not only has my wood burning stove flue started leaking but my old favourite Peugeot 406 has developed an electrical fault that has put the brake lights on permanently. After taking the steering column out to get at the brake light switch it isn't that. It is a complete mystery and my local auto electrician has no pointers. Christmas "Bah Humbug!

Water ingress. Possibly a not so visible combination of condensation and old boot or tailgate rubber seal. Just disconnect the cables but leave the high level brake light in place. Seems to work for most of the older cars on the road. |

These "Froggie" cars are a nightmare when you have electrical problems, like a lot of cars now the two pin brake light switch has continuity all the time and pushing the brake pedal breaks the circuit |

Ha yes. nice coutume. Do you buy one each Christmas and how big is your colony now? What's his name? Do you allow him dormir sur le canapé? My girlfriend says "I'm walking my pork" when we are in the woods, is her English any good?
Gordon, you're a pro and all of us told you not to buy French crap, specially a Pug. Since I sold my wife's 208, I wonder how they manage to find naive customers to buy those bad goods. Could not imagine to see you on the list! |

I can't fully agree, Froggie cars are a nightmare permanently. Is your Froggie car in Rosbif configuration, i.e. RHD? If RHD bin it. If LHD, have a look to the connectors located under the driver seat and, more important, under the foot rest. Then bin it.

A friend of my Mothers in Spain has a pet pig, and she can often be seen walking her pig around town. One day I was sat at a street café when she walked up to me with her pig on its lead. She stopped to say hello, and the pig just ignored and looked away from me, 'pas impressionné'. Why? I can only think it was because I was eating the Spanish equivalent of a bacon roll with my coffee! |

Joe I remember this type of Pug, very rare here (rare is not an allusion to EB's bacon!) had a Citroën hydraulic suspension at rear (BX may be), yes? |

After over a year, I've just confirmed my order for the Mach E. Been reading reviews which appear to be generally favourable. Still no confirmed delivery date but quite looking forward to it. Like Mike, I think these are interesting vehicles so the technology and driving experience should provide some interest.
I still don't buy the environmental aspects but the thought of relatively cheap motoring does appeal since I'm not working now. |

So check for a faulty relay . Although a lot of cars now have 2 brake light switches , one to shut down the ECU under braking , so it is never easy to know what is what . |

Yes but Peugeot doesn't make today's cars, they are standing two centuries behind the others. At best.

Also, isn't Gordon talking about a 406?
The ECU on that will be candle-powered Gordon - check the pilot's still lit! Joe, the 405 Mi16 certainly had a good engine, but I'm not sure about the rest of it. Although... those old 405s did seem peculiarly impervious to rust. Must have been a fluke. |

I think its a triumph of the cars anonymity that I'm struggling to think what a 406 looks like Certainly haven't seen one for ages.... The 405 wasn't a bad car, I guess - a mate had the Mi16 and he liked that, and my race partner Steve had a BX GTi16v - a cracker of an engine, and it made a great tow-car - mind you we were only towing a Clan, then....it might have struggled with the 944 or the 75 which were the later race cars.

The 406 is quite a good-looking car, even now. They were raced with some success in the BTCC. There are still plenty of them around here, mostly in pretty good condition. Not so many estates though |
