Mr F A Bolton?

Does anyone have any information on a gentleman called Mr F.A. Bolton?
He competed in hill climbs in the early 1900s and won several events;

Derby ("near Derby") in August 1905 (35hp Daimler)
Hazelwood Hill, near Belper (Daimler)
Star Hill, Oakmoor near Cheadlle, in 1906 (Daimler)
Style Kop, bear rugley, in may 1908 (40hp Ariel)
Turnditch Hill, Hill Cliff Lane, Ashborne/Belper Road (Daimler)
Uttoxeter , Marchington/Uttoxeter Road, 1907 1908 and 1909 (Daimler)
Weston Bank, Uttoxeter/Stafford Road, June 1907 (40hp Daimler)

I think he was a director (or at least an employee) of the Daimler company
I have him winning a total of 20 hillclimbs - three in 1905, five in 1906 (including one in Ireland), five in 1907, four in 1908 and three in 1909
He drove Daimlers most of the time, but switched to an Ariel for the 1908 season

Chris Mason's book has one reference to "Frank Bolton, a Daimler agent".

The results I have, are from local papers of the time, so they should be accurate. But I'm looking for enought about the man to write a chapter for the book I am writing. Seems he'd make for quite an interesting story.

I ran a search through the 1881 UK Census, and found a Frank A.Bolton born in 1877 (USA), aged 4 and living at 13 Fairfax Road, London, Middlesex. He was the nephew of James A.Huckvale. I don't know if this is one and the same - there were no other Frank Bolton's with the middle initial of A, although there were plenty of Frank Bolton's without an initial.

Not Darren, but I can answer as follows...
An Ariel for the 1908 event, Daimlers for all the others
(as in my earlier post)

I've just found this site.

Frank Bolton was my grandfather. He was born in 1866 into a family which ran a copper and brass business - Thomas Bolton and Sons Ltd., based in Birmingham. His father Alfred bought the Cheadle Copper and Brass Foundry with factories at Oakamoor and Froghall, in 1852. They made the first transatlantic telegraph cable in 1857.

FAB was the younger of 2 sons of Alfred and was keen on cars from their early days. We have some photos of them. I think he raced at Brooklands - certainly his nephew David did. David was the flute player in the Linked Ring photos.
