15 drivers for Carrera Cup media day.
Hopefully that's not the entire grid, because that number isn't too impressive. |

Par for the course there, the racing is rarely impressive either.

It’s ironic really as the Porsche’s were always my favourite part of spectating for F1. Probably because it was the only series on the bill that can overtake with relative ease.

Well it’s alright I suppose. At least you do get overtaking in Porsches, while F1 still has a way to go

In which case you'd expect them to have left blank spaces, it does appear to be a deliberate choice to add the Dunlop stickers. Furthermore, if they were going for the '2018 look' then there'd be Hi-Q stickers on the headlights, so it seems they've picked the best of both seasons and gone for Dunlop wherever possible.

Is it me or are teams testing more in this off season? Even BMR have been out on track. The only team I don’t think we’ve seen is WSR because of the new car being in build. ExcelR8 & BMR both out this week who we’d not seen anything from.

Possibly, even probably, young Mr Proctor has brought enough golden coins to fund BMR having a run out. Wherever the cash has come from it's good to see.
Hopefully they'll have a better season |

I highly doubt that, they may be a bit late, but I'm sure the new car will be on the grid, even if it is not fully competitive

BTCC facebook page just posted some images of the completed BTC cars and saying they're testing at Brands tomorrow.

They look to me like they’re missing a title sponsor still

why did BTC update their cars? - cos they wanted new. Why does anyone update cars? Should we still have the Proton, Chevrolet and Insignia on the grid? Or is it better that the grid continues to be 'refreshed' every season? Eventually, every team needs to move on to a new model - BTC obviously feel that the FK8 in its second season is the right time. |

I think that’s right. BTC racing felt it was time for a change. Cars like the Proton and Insignia don’t really belong on the grid anymore. As the NGTC regs evolve, cars change. Hence why BTC moved to the up to date cars

I was at Croft today with a mate who was doing some shakedown testing with his BMW Compact Cup car, before this weekend's races at Brands - and there were 4 BTCC cars there testing - Hondas for Neal, Camish and Simpson, and Moffat's Mercedes. They seemed to spend a lot of their time in the garages, but didn't seem to have any real issues when out on track - fascinating to see at close quarters the set-up and kit they have, compared to our Van and trailer set-up

What a session that sounds like. I guess all drivers are different, but was nice to hear a few gave you the time. The BTCC has always been about getting close to the cars

£5-8k a day I was told by a team owner
£500 just for the engineer to be there to start the engine At least two sets of tyres, two sets of brakes, circuit hire, prep before and after the day, travel to get the car there, personnel to be there on the day, overnight accommodation if not local or two days etc etc |
