New event, Chateau Impney hillclimb

Something different this week-end with the first running of the revived Chateau Impney hill climb, last run in 1967.

For a first go, there were no more than a few very minor hitches, and what a brilliant event it turned out to be. Entry was limited to cars which would have been around at the time of the original event, so vintage and historic sports cars and racing cars. I'm not usually a fan of old stuff, but there were some magnificent vehicles, and more importantly, being driven hard.

No serious incidents, happily, one or two geographical problems at the roundabout where several drivers appeared to be without map or sat-nav to much hysteria on post, a very good time was had by all.

Looking forward to the 2016 running already.

Pistonbroke should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Praise indeed from Woolley!

As a long time fan of 'old stuff' I concur completely - it was an excellent event, with a very wide variety of cars. Very few problems considering it was the first running of the event since 1967, and the first ever on this particular course.

Only a couple of 'demonstrations', otherwise serious hillclimbing up to the capabilities of the cars.

Roll on 2016!
