I do think that long term it might be good to consider reducing the number of crew who do the pitstops. Super quick stops are visual interesting, but frankly if everyone is doing it, then it doesn't add much to the race. You could argue it actually hurts the race. Teams now know the short deltas for stops and allows them to minimize the places lost and it makes it much easier to know where they will slot back into the race. Long stops will shuffle the order more and make it harder to predict the optimal times to pit.

Heats and a Final, change tyres in the break. Or two races with aggregate results. Gives time for adverts.

Reading an article in Autosport on Non Championship races there were quite a few like the International Trophy that used to run them in two heats. In fact they also did it in the 1959 German GP at Avus

Anderstorp hasn’t been used in F1 for over 40 years. It’s last major race was the WTCC in 2007. The main difference is the start line is now where the pits is

If the performance gap between the teams was not so great, then the idea of b2b races at the same venue is very interesting.

Maybe even the data gathered in the 1st race could lead to a far more interesting 2nd race.

And yes, very intriguing biosphere suggestion.

The performance gap between teams is pretty close now. Much better than most times in history.
The problem is the sheer professionalism of the teams so that they are so consistent and get to close to their potential straight off.

The problem is the big three teams tend to be a bit in a league of their own atm. However I am sure there is a chance Racing Point could upset the apple cart a little bit with their so called ‘Pink Mercedes’

Hungary was the only Warsaw Pact country to hold a GP, in 1986.

Brno was the the old Eastern Block venue mooted instead of or in addition to Hungaroring back in the mid 80's

The logistics to do even that will be frightening in complexity. I wonder how much stuff teams surface freight to races.

they'll need to be confirming with teams when the first few non-european races are so they can get their seafreight en route. but everything is taken by road inside europe, and many, if not all closed borders are open for freight anyway. it's a maximum of four working days inc saturdays to hungary from the uk including an overnight ferry.

RB has said no european spec motorhomes will be used , thats a big reduction in movements and staff , Red Bull hospo is 30+ trucks , thats alot of people out of a job !
