Makes sense for Peugeot and Loeb to do at least a couple of WRX rounds.

It would be good to get DC in the car, afterall he did beat Solberg in a RX car on a level playing field at the ROC so he's got the pace

Heard that an employee at UNIC Transmissions believed that Marklund and Kristoffersson will join forces and become one team. Very odd if it happens in my opinion but we will see tomorrow

Could that be VW Sweden and then Petter gets the official team?

No idea actually. I've read in an article from Autosport, if I remember correctly, that Solberg wants to stick with his regular team but with a manufacture backing, so it could very well happen. If he gets the backing I wonder how they will have the team go along with another driver. Will Solberg keep doing his own thing or cooperate with the other driver and the manufacture/Volkswagen?

My bet though if Marklund and Kristoffersson join forces would be that Heikkinen and Kristoffersson will have the seats, maybe as VW Sweden like you said or as the official VW team. There is a possibility also that Anton Marklund will go back to Volkswagen, apparently he had two contracts for WRX next year to choose from.

Very excited about tomorrow, will clear up a few questions to say the least!

Crossfades what is happening tomorrow? Surely Marland and VW Team Sweden amalgamating is one less team and therefore bad?

I assume that they are merging into a single team and will run just two cars in 2016?

I see Heikkinen has said his goodbyes to the Marklund team...

https://www.facebook.com/toomastopih...type=3&theater

...I wonder where he will end up next year?

ERC24 just shared a post from Ramona Karlsson, she is out for 2016:

That is correct. The cars will be built by Marklund in The north of Sweden and then maintained in Arvika by Kristoffersson about 200 km south of Höljes. They will have a testing team so they can keep developing the cars since the events are tight together. There is no official support from VW motorsport, only VW Sweden.

I note that Jost Capito is aware of what's going on though!

Shame for Linnerud and Veiby; I hope they find seats elsewhere.

So is one less team, loss of official manufacturer VW motorsport and two less drivers a good thing?

Im sure Capito is aware just because it is VW. Now that rx is growing fast VW surely wants their name to be among the top contenders, even if it isnt them officially.

Linnerud was dissapointed in KMS after this season, sad to see him leave though. Veiby will be the test driver of the team.

I guess that there's a chance of 7 Polos being for sale now though. 4 Marklund cars and 3 KMS. That's presuming that new cars are being built.

So does this preclude wildcard entries from Foust next year? Unless Eklund makes a Beetle available for him?

They are not sure now what do with the cars right now as they are focusing on WRX, although they have thoughts of letting Foust, since he has raced with Marklund before, and Veiby do some rounds. There has also been a few drivers that according to them has asked if they could lend their cars.

Thing is it cant escaped anyones notice that KMS cars were largely quicker than Marklund cars for most of the year. So it makes sense

Marklund s a rich kid whose Dad runs everything, seems a waste of a seat to me.

KMS should haee run the works team not Marklund. They just ran a Sweden VW team I think

According to Norwegian VG, Solberg will keep driving with his car next year and probably build a new one in 2017.

Sort of on topic, but an interesting foot note with regards to Lydden: I note that they have now dropped all the drift track days from their 2016 calendar.

Given that much of the local resistance to the development of the circuit was related to the drift track days, this seems a pretty decisive move to get things moving with regards to the modernization of the circuit facilities.

Also the "new" track manager has gone, and 100 decibels limit put on track days etc.

I cant imagine the sound of wailing tyres ever gets nice to hear or listen to.

Sadly it makes tracks money as do track days and it costs nothing or very little to hold it so I can understand why Lydden did it.

Plus the current team there are obsessed with it, so seemed to want to make it the home of drifting.

Good riddance I say, its utter garbage and always has been.

You've said that in the past, but I personally don't agree with you. Perhaps I'm missing something, but what have Lydden done in the last couple of years that makes you think they are "obsessed" with it?

Nice attitude. Well with Lydden no longer hosting their drift track days, that's killed grassroots drifting in the South.
