Anyone can enter Ardennes Challenge direct with the organisers; if you use the link Mike gave last evening the entry form is available online.
http://spaardenneschallenge.com/index.php/entry-form/ All club racers and gentleman drivers are made most welcome by Vincent. |

Podd what a nice car you race! I assume its not a Berlinetta and quite remember the two samples raced here under the Scuderia Filipinetti colors. Very fast, pro drivers at wheel, body from a 1100 probably to improve air feed to the rad'. https://twitter.com/ndonvr/status/727401590563438592
I remember Jean Louis Lafosse at Montlhéry it was hard for him to achieve a good start, the first gear being long as the normal third one! OK with you, a good Escort in the right hands should be in the 3'05" region on Yoko's. From Mike's link, many pictures show cars well known in France… |

Nice looking! A 1300, then. I never saw a Trivellato but I can tell you that back in the day the Filipinetti were said more Grp5 than Grp2 and impossible to build for an amateur. Specially the gearbox and I doubt Bacci R keeps bits in stock. In Germany you can find parts for Italian cars, worth a go to Essen or Milano show. In an other thread of course. All this gave me a good kick, whatever the car I'd love to go there. Even with a Bertone…

Considering to refurbish an old GTV 2000 Grp1 with Falkens 912 now. Driving an Alfa at Spa will bring me back to 1976…

Dont tell me! Since this afternoon we're looking for a 5th gear pinion set its the same as the GTJ 1300. We dont even think about the full trim and will probably finish our Falken stock. I'm searching the lap time we made in 2012, probably 3'18"… Best Grp1 was a Commodore B.

I've looked longingly at this meeting as our race club - CSCC - have a cross-series race there, but if we did that we couldn't afford to do any other races during the year....and we are required to enter at least two other races in our series to qualify....
Maybe I can find a way to come over to spectate |

Similar situation here Richard, we had looked at a few CSCC races for this season but decided instead to chuck most of the budget at Spa instead.. I raced in Spa before, many yrs ago with CSCC and have had a hankering for it again ever since. Its a fantastic place, even in a low powered car.

Enjoy yourselves, the 3hrs is a good event. 1950 Euros entry fee, via Diogo Ferrero is also good value.
It doesn't fit my timing this year so I'm doing the Masters 3hrs at Donington. |

And they clearly allow continuation cars with engines not produced until the 1990s so why not a Caterham. My car is probably older(2002) than some of the cars that are eligible and has an engine (K series) that is the sane vintage as a Zetec. Just curious, thats all, i probably wouldnt wish to race on a mixed grid with heavy saloons etc! Last edited by andy97; 10 Feb 2019 at 18:46. |

I guess because 90+% of my racing has been with CSCC its just my default option.....but realistically the real answer is probably money, and the lack thereof.....unless our apartment in Tenerife sells, when I could be persuaded...but probably be too late for this year |

I have to say that on the occasions when I've shared a grid with Caterhams, in either the 944 or the 75, its been scary - not only do you have to lower your mirrors to give you a chance of seeing the little blighters, but their lines (? ) into and through corners are so different from ours that its potentially dangerous......... |

They are just "different". I drove Caterhams, 1600 and 1800, in endurance and its a hassle when mixed with GT's or Tin Tops. They all are much taller! We try to have separated grids for Minis, Caterhams and M3's too. Dont ask why about the Bimmers! Do you intend to go and watch Summer Classic?

You should have tried driving a Special Saloon Anglia around Brands on a crisp Saturday afternoon at the same time that a future world champion is in full flow piloting the latest Formula 2 car in serious testing mode! On one lap, I checked the rear view mirror on entry into Paddock and he was not to be seen, yet by the time that the car floated to the edge of the track on exiting and I was starting up the hill to Druids, he was alongside me on the nearside. I wouldn't have known that he was there if I hadn't heard his engine, and he wasn't too impressed that he had to take to the grass to avoid me! We had, surprisingly under the circumstances, a very friendly chat at the end of the afternoon in the paddock when I apologised to him. His only criticism was that it was an effing stupid place to park! We remained on friendly terms whilst I was still racing. |
