Use of onboard videos?
just wondering if anyone from here can help. I think I know the answer to this, but I thought I'd try. I'm currently producing a DVD on the Lotus 72 & have been offered some onboard video footage from this years' Monaco Historic F1 race. I need to know how I stand about copyright. The owner of the car shot it himself, not through a TV company. Does he own the copyright, or do we have to contact the Automobile Club de Monaco (the organising club) to get clearance. If so, I fear the worst!! Thanks for your replies.

At UK races, you have to sign a disclaimer from the circuit (rather than the organiser) saying you won't publish or broadcast your on-board video - or else get a big fine. Ask the driver if he signed anything - but I guess you probably going to need to ask the ACM.

Thanks, Graeme. That's exactly what I was thinking.
