According to EI Parente will Join Loeb in probably the most powerful pair in the series if WRT doesn't do any special line up.

More flyaway rounds will increase costs, this is only a semintrnational sprints, by now there are two options, withdraw or this, for Ratels Business is better to go on to not affect on BES.

The thruth is UK should have a round but maybe those figures of crowdness didn't make happy Ratel:

Silverstone was the emptier Round.

More schedule changes...many Audis. Perhaps they should name it the Northern Hemisphere Improvised Audi R8 Championship.

Amazing that year on year these teams keep re-appearing. You have to hand it to Ratel when it comes to his tenacity. I suppose as always the question is how many will still be there by mid-season?

Unbelievably, I think this is a step in the right direction. Done away with the rubbish two car per manufacturer rule and allows race by race entries. None of the too ambitious trips to China, Brazil and Argentina. Start small, build something stable and go from there.

Still not convinced on the international one hour sprint format with pros for GT3. Should just focus on having a strong pro category of BES which gives gentlemen drivers more seat time and their own class victories.

I think he had the right idea when combining BES and Sprint into one shared championship, unfortunately that idea seems to have fallen by the wayside now. My ideal series would be a 9 round series with three three hour races, one 1000k race, the 24h at Spa and four sprint weekends. Makes for a nice and diverse schedule and there's something in it everyone can enjoy. If you have to, create a special award for the best endurance teams.

I think 9 rounds today is too much, AM's don't have so much time for racing cause they are AM's and mostly will have familly and business. In terms of pro, only the WEC is powerfull enough (And i doubt at current international level) to host 9 rounds, it's too expensive unless we run GT4's... Or maybe a car per team.

How about making the world championship combined with other GT3-championships? The 5 BES-rounds, combined with 2 rounds in South America with the Brazilean championship, 1 in San Luis and 1 in Curitiba or at Interlagos.
And At the end of the season join the Australian championship in Surfers Paradise and/or the Macau GT-cup.

Did I read well? Is SUNRED racing a pair of Audi R8's? The most interesting thing about them is the persistence with which it sticks to their job.

From 1 single ford GT to a pair of R8 LMS minimum, and that team is Spanish and their principal sponsor was GT Club a Supercar share and second hand sale (458,lp670, i saw a 12C GT3 in their store) club which should have reduced sponsorship as big spanish funds have left the country in last year. Unbelievable.

Looks like it might finally be a step in the right direction.

Bringing it more in line with the Blancpain Endurance Series seems like the right idea.
Firstly stopping trying to pretend it is a pro series and travelling to these far away countries when all the teams are based in Europe will help hugely with finding sponsors and travel costs.

Allowing teams to run whichever cars they want and allowing round by round entries is also in my opinion a great idea.

So hopefully it will turn out like a sprint version of the Blancpain series. Although attracting gentlemen drivers compared to Blancpain could be difficult with only 2 available seats, not as much race time and a longer calender.

I think Ratel could try to build a strong all-pro championship. It could be splitting the Blancpain GT Endurance Series in two, or remove the pro teams to this new sprint championship, plus the 24 Hours of Spa and 24 Hours of Nürburgring.

Bring back the old FIA GT logo from the LG Super Racing Weekend days

It's old school but easily recognizable.

Looking forward to seeing Parente and Loeb together. Bang up combo as long as the McLaren behaves itself.

Whether this one looks better than GT Open is year depends on who else is driving here. Plus, getting in a Ferrari and a few more Porsche would help. If they get those, don't think GT Open can compete.

Ratel took a while to understand in today's age he couldn't limit the grid to 2 per manufacturer. Probably he knew without it he'd have an overload of Audis like he does now!

Interviewed Ratel at Autosport. He is very honest about the failure of GT1, and the potential of FIA GT.

Really like Ratel's comments in this interview. He seems to have really "gotten it" with the failure of GT1 World. While I have criticized in the past, I will be rooting for them to succeed. Its good that he has ambitions of a pro series and its good that he seems to have the patience to build up to it slowly.
