SO Who will get the Pirtek Falcon seat for 2006?
Its fast approaching the time SBR( Ross Stone said on RPM) have to make a decision on who will take the best seat in V8 supercars for 2006
-a really worthy talent only should be picked with the team that consistently delivers a fast reliable(except at Tassy) Falcon -WHO WILL IT BE??? Last edited by Grimace; 23 Apr 2005 at 08:34. |

Funny I was flicking through my 1998 copy of The Great Race the other day (although it wasn't called that at the time as there was the 2 lite war going on) Inside the front cover is a blurb attributed to Ross Stone about his team's success that year with Bright and Steve Richards.
In it he says "Jason as usual did the job, as we have come to expect from him. We knew Steven Richards would be quick; he was superb and a pleasure to deal with. Our team will always have a special feeling for him..." As much as'd like to see him stay with Larry, Richo is my pick for the Pirtek seat. |

Hey whats Richo done lately to win glory for Perkins Racing? Has he actually won a round since hes been with CPR or even a race? Or does Russell Ingall still hold the last round won by CPR title?

From memory.............
CPR last race win = Russell Ingall Canberra Race 2 2002 CPR last round win = Russell Ingall Winton 2001 CPR last enduro win = Ingall/Perkins Qld 500 1999 CPR last Bathurst win = Ingall/Perkins 1997 The stats suggest that the results went south when Russell headed North |

Ross and Jimmy have always believed in bringing through young talent, why keep rotating the guys that have been in for years and years...In 98 they took on Brighty from open wheelers, they took both Besnard and Ambrose on in 01....Next year they have one experienced campaigner, im guessing they will take a punt and try and discover the next Ambrose again!!! I rekon Davison should be the man!!

Max Wilson would be my pick of the regulars or even bring a young gun into it, Luff or Youlden maybe.

Alex has got his turn, Will doesnt know what category he wants to race in or has to many options, so i would say Jack Perkins could be looking a pretty good bet down at CPR ninetenths, thats if there are going to be any changes there.

Next year's CPR driver is currently driving for a rival Holden team. That's if Richo moves somewhere else of course...

There is a lot of talk about Steven Richards moving to SBR, but i remember a lot of his interviews talking about CPR and how much at home he felt. The general theme of his feelings towards CPR is that he wants to stay there for the remainder of his career. Has this changed in recent time? Or are we barking up the wrong tree here?

I still think that there might be some shake up within the Ford ranks. It wouldnt surprise me to see Frosty Winterbottom in the pirtek car and someone else at LMS, Luke Youlden for example.

If it turns out to be Richo would SBR announce this mid-season or hold off and do an *ingall*
