I must admit, I had a chuckle about this yesterday.

If you follow this link to AtlasF1.com, you'll see some photo's of the actual incedent.

I see Michael managed not to brawl with anyone. And came 5th.

The pics are not pretty. Silly boy.

Will this make a difference to his job opportunities next year? (Steve?)

Apparently it was not a big deal.

Jos had a racing incident with someone, causing both to leave the track. The father/teamboss of the other guy made some remarks that Jos didn't like. Jos, high on adrenaline as he is in a race, went to him to complain about that and the guy pulled Jos' helmet. There was some pushing and stuff, Jos pulled himself loose went to the raceofficials.

The two men have talked about it, they've known eachother for over 25 years, even worked together. They won't even mention it the next time they have a coffee...

Good to hear. People tend to jump to conclusions when there's an incident like this, especially when an F1 driver is involved...

here you see Jos pulling himself free, there was some pushing , but the media is making it sound like there was a big fight, they should get their facts straight first.

The Dutchman was losing pace during one of the scheduled events and was involved in an accident while being lapped. The incident was thought to be a ‘pay back' for an earlier incident, however this eventually led to a confrontation with angry spectators. Due to the ensuing brawl between fans and the former Arrows driver, race management cancelled Jos' final event of the day
stolen from F1live.com

The guy has been disqualified. Obviously not blameless in this one.

Jos was disqualified for ramming another driver off the track(who had rammed him out of this and an earlier race)

he was'nt disqualified for this "fight", because Jos did'nt start it and it was'nt that big a deal anyway.

I don't believe he started that fight either, he's far too professional to resort to such things IMO.

As a sidenote, notice how every time Schumacher loses one of these things, it's because he had "setup problems"?

Maybe Michael did have set-up problems (a point that in the F1-live article is made by the author, but even if it wasn't...)!

5th sounds pretty good to me. At least he was out there having fun.

And probably lost in admiration at Jos' professionalism at ramming someone off the track.

Good to hear. Media can sometimes blow things right out of proportion, and I'm glad it wasn't as serious as it first sounded.

However, the "pay back" thing from that article worries me (if true). Not very professional if he provoked that on-track incident on purpose. Anyone who knows more details on this...?

Can somebody please explain to me what Verstappen's motivations for staying in F1 are. Because frankly after this incident (blown out of proportion or not) if I were a team boss I wouldn't want him on my team. Who needs that type of publicity? Verstappen's F1 stock for what it is worth has declined rather dramatically, wouldn't he be better of racing in the DTM or some other series? Why stick around and drive at the back when you can maybe drive a stock car and punt people off the track to your heart's content. Please Jos, just go away and let Minardi bring in some promising rookie, your time has come and gone.

not at all, the reason Jos was loosing pace is that he was rammed from behind causing his exhaust to break, by the same driver who had rammed him out of a race earlier that weekend, he let himself get lapped on purpouse

he did'nt cause anyone to retire but the guy who had caused him to retire twice that weekend(but the other guys fater was'nt to happy about it)
