The organisers of the Rallycross Open Series & MDA would like to invite all drivers, organisers, sponsors and general public to the 40th anniversary celebration on Saturday February 10th.

The 40th Anniversary of Rallycross event takes place at Croft Circuit on Sunday February 11th and to celebrate the occasion the Jersey Farm Hotel at Barnard Castle will hold a special 40 years of Rallycross forum.

The evening will be hosted by the Voice of Rallycross - Mr Arthur Debenham on Saturday February 10th, which includes forum, carvery, dessert and disco. Arthur will take a trip down memory lane with four legends of British Rallycross - John Welch, Graham Hathaway,Mark Rennison and Jeff Williamson.

You can purchase tickets for the evening by downloading the form from the Open Series website - www.RallycrossOpen.com.

Further Rallycross drivers from the seventies, eighties and nineties will be attending the evening, the names of which will be confirmed shortly.

Seemingly they have the correct date (1st ever RX, Saturday February 4 1967, Lydden Circuit) in mind and not the 1st ever "international" RX on Saturday November 25 1967 at Lydden, that was hampered by the due to 'foot and mouth' cancelled RAC rally – as SO MANY wise guys still wrongly claim...

If you say so Eddie who would argue with you.

Tony

ps had a long chat with John Welch the other weekend at the Autosport show you will pleased to know he is still whinging about the way rallycross is being run.

As I have been appointed the Senior Clerk for the 2007 season of the BRC I think I shall try and get him along as a Steward some tiome.
