Skinny
How is the 65 year old Scot going!! Hope I have that much grit when that age
 I am perplexed at the skinny rims and tyres that seem to be the the fashion on the bikes....they are so narrow they just seem to sink straight away into the sand...not to mention being prone to punctures. |

Peterhansel has increased his lead - doesn't look like he's going to be caught unless he hits problems. The VW's have fallen right out of the picture now, it would have been good if they had stayed in touch with the Mitsis right until the end.

The Dakar bites back again - Marc Coma is out, from a seemingly comfortable lead he got lost then crashed (he's been taken to hospital for checks after suffering a blow to the head).

Peterhansel wins the Dakar again (he didn't take a single stage win though!) , Cyril Despres won the bikes section but there was also another fatatlity with Eric Aubijoux suffering heart failure.
