They are same spec. Both are TCR cars.

Also Audi and Alfa are well off pace.
They should introduce BOP based on fast/slow track like in Blancpain GT.
Also I think they should base BOP on ECU (decrease hp) and ride height instead of kg. They should keep kg for 3 most successful drivers.
Thx.

About R1: Nice 1-2 for M1ra. I think Norbi makes it easy for Attila, shame that Colciago was a bit slower.

About the organization: one of the Zengő Seat was clearly not the right position on the grid, but thes get the green flag, and they not penalized that car, it is just under investigation.

Fantastic Tassi double, M1ra 1-2 in the championship. Attila really know how to start with that car.

Excellent result for Tassi in his home race.

It seems that the new BoP wan't a big problem for Honda after all.

TCR Balance of Performance changed to improve tyre and brake wear

I think that biggest problem in modern touring car classes (TCR, WTCC, BTCC) is the weight.
BTCC is 1280, WTCC is 1100, TCR 1285.
Quick search showed that Group A Jaguar XJS was 1400kg, and Rover 3500 was 1100kg, and they are much bigger cars then these hot hatch models.
In my opinion old ST rules with 975-1000kg minimum weight are perfect. And then apply BOP.
If it's possible to get these modern cars down to sub 1000kg

24 cars entered (I think M1RA were trying for a third car but couldn't), Jaap van Lagen in 3rd car for Leopard Racing

With 38 cars in TCR Germany that's 61 racing at Oschersleben (Luca Engstler in both)

From the TCR Preview:
"This year the TCR competitors will use the circuit’s older layout that includes the smoother “esses” at the end of the pit straight instead of the sharper left-hander. This is to limit the risk of a pile up at the start and to favour overtaking manoeuvres"

I don't think it favours overtaking or prevents a pile up. They should redesign T1 or use last year's layout. TCR Germany got 41 cars through there, twice.

The old layout rocks, they should never have changed it. Good to see it back!

Morbidelli on pole for Race 1 in front of van Lagen and Lloyd
Homola on pole for Race 2 in front of Vernay and Colciago

Vervish and Comini are very slow. 1.5s slower than Langeveld pole for TCR Germany in same car.

Great pole for Gianni Morbidelli, finally ultra competitive in the Golf

It's difficult to make comparison, in the TCR Germany they use the Hankook tyre.

Can be, but Engstler pace was similar on both tires.
He was slightly faster (0.018s) on Michelin tyres.

Yes but the Golf it's okay on this track, the problem seems to be Audi related. The alfas are struggling a lot also

Borkovic said that they have too much turbo lag to be competitive at Oschersleben.

It's nice to see WestCoast and Morbidelli at the top of the times again.

I'll take that back. Original T1 worked very well.

7 cars eliminated in first start. Of 15 that restarted only 9 finished and only 7 people didn't make a pitstop or retire. That's like Macau Race 2 2015.

There was really good racing all weekend in both the International and German series. Last year's combined event was great too. That battle between the top 4 in International race 2 was proper touring car racing. More of that please!

I, personally, would have parked Vernay for the rest of the day for the contact with Tassi in race 1. It was clearly intentional and retaliatory, and almost took another car out.

It's clear to me that the fabric tow-hoops that racing cars have nowadays aren't fit for purpose. There were a couple of incidents where the tow-hoops snapped and the cars had to be towed by the roll cage.

M1RA had a third car on the provisional entry list for this weekend, but it was removed after they couldn't find a driver. Josh Files was spotted chatting with the team during race 2, so something to look out for.

Jean-Karl Vernay in race 1 took another driver out of the race and nothing is done about it.

Utter joke from the organisers.

Shambles.
