Wanted: Racecar engineering magazines

Hi,

Firstly hello! This is my first post and its a 'wanted' request!

I am after old copies of Racecar Engineering magazine that people wouldn't mind selling on to me for a small fee. I'm a regular subscriber now but would love to get hold of some of the old copies if poss and have a good flick through.

Email me on 'moir_alex@hotmail.com' or leave a message below.

Thanks in advance

Alex

Have you tried 2nd hand book and magazine stores? I once found a stack of RCE and RT mags. The owner noticed me buying them and then hung onto them for me. Every month I would go in and get about a dozen of them. Old ones too, some back to 1992!

You should add your location.

Thanks for the reply. I'm in Farnborough in Hampshire. I will try and scout about the local 2nd hand bookshops

Bugger, I threw out a couple of years worth of RCE recently as no one wanted them. And I'm only down the road from you too.

Collectors Carbooks at Silverstone and/or Simon Lewis Transport Bookshop may be worth a shout, they do tend to have quite a lot of old magazines and books.

Try ebay. I sold mine a few years ago when I moved and made a fortune.

No one interested on eBay either at the time. Most likely because of the cost of posting them.

I'm sure someone out there would want them. A lot of those issues are hard to come by.

mountainstar, I think they are worth a bit more overseas. Certainly most people in Aus can't afford to spend AU$12 every couple of months for a magazine.

Here in UK they're cheap compared!

I sold them here in the USA where the first few years of issues are hard to find. Now race tech and RCE can be found at any major bookstore in the magazine rack.

It's a surprise sometimes what things are worth. I had started buying FORZA magazine(an american ferrari mag) back when it first came out. I had the 1st issue and about 12 others before I stopped buying them. When I was sorting through my accumulation of 1500 car and racing magazines(1991-2003) many I threw out but these i thought I would put on ebay. Mainly I just wanted someone who wanted them to have them, rather than be put in the trash bin. The auction ended at $170.00. That was a shock.

Alex,

I used to buy the odd copy of RCE a few years ago, but really have no clue where they might be - I'll have a look and let you know if I find any...

Alex - found some but they're all just loads and loads of v16 which iswhat we're on now - though I'm sure there's more to be unearthed somewhere.

Alex, drop me a PM and let me know what you need - don't need the issue numbers, just tell me what the front cover was and will see what we've got.
