I have a "Outlook " E Mail account .
Today I got a big mail from them saying that from next month there is a change in their service etc . All looks very proper , but did a bit of digging and found this . https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...6-eea4be42090f Can,t see how it will work , but I guess if they ask for passwords or any bank details then it is almost certainly a scam . |

Well you tried Bob
I'm not surprised that they declined it as I can't ever remember setting up a DD to DVLA Last edited by GORDON STREETER; 5 May 2021 at 21:25. |

And no I didn't press on it but reported it to the powers that be, it just seems to be getting worse and worse

Modern cars and the price of parts for them are getting rather "expensive" !
I had to fit a new drivers seat belt in a Golf today that had failed an MOT because it was frayed. I had to get it from the main dealer and with VAT it cost the customer £421.81 + fitting. OK I am aware that it has explosive pre tensioners linked to the airbag but still a lot of money. Last year a friend had his "not to old" Range Rover written off after a "smallish" side impact set most of the airbags off. The price to replace them and the inside panels that they destroyed was horrendous! He bought it back off the insurance company and just uses it around the farm and fields, he never repaired any of it as it still drives perfectly |

In fact possibly the last time I ran at Wiscombe was this very weekend in 1982 before I headed off to Aus ... Wiscombe was the weekend Gilles Villeneuve died, and I vividly remember hearing the news as it got worse during the afternoon. Of course no internet or anything then and just waited for updates into the evening news when his fate was confirmed, back at the pub we stayed at. Seem to remember it was a different event each day , Saturday Aston Martin OC and Sunday another championship. I remember coming home with a pot or tankard from each day. But a sad weekend really. Actually my avatar is at Wiscombe in my Phantom Hart Clubmans, coming out of Sawbench, probably that very weekend. Have a great weekend anyway. I seem to remember the paddock slope was a nightmare in the wet! Last edited by E.B; 7 May 2021 at 12:44. |

I suspect the tremendous waste of materials and energy in the modern automotive manufacturing and repair world can only be reduced once things can be simplified by effective use of autonomous control and by harmonising and standardising designs and components and making them the only option for transportation deployed within heavily controlled traffic paths that require almost no human input at the point of travel. Moving to intentionally make vehicle ownership very expensive so that people give up on the "dream" of personal choice would be somewhat more acceptable than announcing outright bans. |

Back to fifties. We used to have additional taxes on many things like cars or even dogs, number of doors or windows for any house and so on, all considered as "signe extérieur de richesse". Re the dogs its really expensive now "mais quand on aime on ne compte pas" when you do something out of love…

There's a direct link between your web searches and the offers sent via your mailbox. They call that "cookies" but there's no connection with mince pies. At least all Tenthers now know what you're looking for… Gourmande!

Now you ask… Maths could help here: for his personal use, sounds quite a lot. But if you add one wife and four daughters it gives 56 litre per each. Just have to find out how five people can share a single bra…

Here are a couple of photos from a very wet Wiscombe.I thought the finish line was very picturesque with the bluebells. I saw the finish line four times. Happy days.

Your photo doesn't do the climb up to the finish line justice. It's really steep isn't it? Drop a wheel down the dip at Martini and it takes ages to make the final ascent.
