i like Grant's idea of pedal karts ... 2 karts, one lap round the block, knock-out format, could even do 2/3 driver relay races, (which would be a shorter event - and would give Colin the chance to keep 'his' tenthers team together ... Brilliant.

Like the idea of a 'driver change' challenge, but as that old codger Max said, need to make sure bodywork isn't damaged. Could do it in a saloon?

Some sort of pedal car or such like race would be fun for the kids! (But beware competitive Dads. ) Do adult versions exist?

Well done Grant sorting all the thread pictures. Sure they will help spread the word for next year.

Yep, this.

However ... think soap box derby. You don't need a real car. In fact a couple of old FJ chassis would probably suffice ....

Winter project - build 2 rolling 'simulators' from old parts (good use for out of date belts and stuff) and some bits of tubing in such a way that they can be made to quickly fit persons of all shapes and sizes and other personal attributes.

If you use 'proper' but maybe U/S (for racing) uprights/hubs they could double up for wheel changing as well or as an alternative if required. (Perhaps an F1 teams challenge if anyone has any contacts?)

Maybe the 'driver' has to wear overalls/helmet and getting into and out of them could be part of the competition. (They wouldn't need to fit very well.)

For the final the teams have to do a lap of the cake factory (hmm, you may need some form of rudimentary brakes and steering which might make that an idea too far.)

Erm, it seems there is already an entire undiscovered (by me) world of pedal car racing ....

I'm sure they will after a Delta Winter Project

Could sell sponsorship panels on the side to raise money, must be some way to develop it like one of those charity race nights

Seems there is choice.

Even a Ferrari version.

I'm beginning to think there may be a lot more to find out there.

Which reminds me (not sure how) that the British Lawn Mower GP is on at Silverstone at the weekend (according to the event map) .

We had our post show meeting last night. Looks like we have raised nearly £4000.00. Just fantasic thanks to all my 10/10th mates who came.Moving on for next year does anyone know about the logistics of having an time trial say from one pub to another in the village . What I am thinking is a time which we would set at an average speed of 30mph then the owners/drivers of their classic cars would have to try to get as close to that time as possible.WDYT.

Excellent news about the £4K Iain! Well done you, the rest of organisers and helpers.

Your idea sounds like a regularity event stage- probably lots of legal requirements if held on road? Ask JR.....

BTW Did the 3 Tenths duelathon participants get an honourable mention?

Time Trial

Stoke Row TourPedo

Might be better as a pedestrian three legged 'special stage' event where competitors travel from establishment to establishment with a requirement to consume a half pint at each location - doesn't have to be ale. Can be 'regularity sections' built in too.
Avoids the complication of vehicles.

What sort of 'regularity' are you thinking of? Is the 1/2 pint obligation part of it?

Looks like you may need a timing organisation next year Iain. Maybe transponders ...

Have to be careful of anything with paedo in the title.......

The half pint should be ale as mandatory, then I have a chance of beating Mr Bell!

Well done on the 4k, brilliant work!

Congrats on your fund-raising Iain....

Our Car Club (Bury Automobile Club) ran a number of "Pub Rallies" years ago, teams of two, covering a course of about 4 miles with 8 pubs en-route....but the last half-mile stretch was a killer up a 1 in 5 hill......when you've already consumed 7 alcoholic drinks that could be a tad stressing

Some of the lady's teams were accused of cheating for drinking advocaat...'cos it was claimed that about half the contents stayed stuck to the side of the glass

Or something stronger for those who require it?

Should appeal to the student communities though may as a result ass to the national debt.
