Looks like some interesting few days at Zandvoort as some teams are testing.

WRT & ComToYou with Audi.
Boutsen & AllInkl with Honda.
SLR & WestCoast with Volkswagen.

Asked one of the WestCoast teammembers what kind of series they will race, he replied: "STCC, but snow in Sweden so we are testing here"... So guess no WestCoast in WTCR or TCR Europe.

Id rather like to see Westcoast in WTCR but the STCC needs em more then TCR Europe. The latter will be fine without them and the STCC needs all the cars, stars and buzz they can get if top level touringcar racing is supposed to survive in scandinavia. There are already so many countrys like France that basically gave up their touring car heritage. Thats why its so good to welcome Italy and Sweden back.

Comte with Peugeot DG Sport.

Maybe Homola will be the second driver?

Comini...please?!

That would be their only shot on winning the championship.

Superb livery for Monteiro, very classy.

Coronel's looks a bit of a mess unfortunately.

I find Coronels car classy and Monteiros car rather boring. But they all shine compared to BRC .

I honestly doubt Monteiro is fit ro racing, so I guess somebodyelse will race with "his" car.

So Honda hires two works drivers to do testing and racing, gives them two new cars, one is vice champion of TCR International, the other one two times TCR Germany champion... and they will drive in TCR-Europe!? Im happy that Tassi and Files have a drive, but come one... they should be in WTCR! So im betting Honda will miss out on the title again, and again they will have no clue why. Jas and Honda Racing are truly pathetic. AFAIK they never won an international TC championship, and 2018 will be no different. While having the sexiest looking car ever built for TCR...

I assume both Tassi and Files will bring most of the budget.
You need a lot of extra budget for WTCR.

My point is: If Honda wants to win the championship (their first ever on a world stage in TC), and they seem to, judging by the fact that they have works drivers in both TCRE and WTCR, they finally should invest in this goal and make smart decisions like focussing their fastest drivers and best teams in the most prestigious series. They have the money.

If they really would have tried, they could have JAS (you know you can sell everything to ribiero and co. If you just negotiate enough) with four cars with world class drivers only and Munich with weaker ones for bop considerations.

If Honda wanted to win something they should've dropped JAS long ago already...

Compete with an aero-disaster hatchback against sedans was the Honda's decission, the engine was developed also in japan (Mugen) so imho the WTCC failure wasn't the fault of JAS.

Don't know... No names on the cars, but in the wet one of the WestCoast cars was fastest. The other car/driver seemed a bit off the pace.

btw; WRT & All-Inkl had both 3 cars running. Some Russians? (LukOil sponsored helmet) in the 3rd car. All-Inkl I guess it was Münnich, but I'm not sure...

Honda spend waaaay to much in motorsport. They burn a fortune with their F1 programe without results. They have a costly motoGP program, and they are involved with a losts of other cathegory (Indycar, SuperGT, DPi, SBK, TCR, WSS, etc), so theydon't have enough money and R&D resource to be competitive inall of theese cathegories.

Thats why they don't support the succesful and professional M1RA and race fint new partners with more money.

At the moment I fear there are too much grey-black and red liveries. And the cars in most cases look similar.

Hope for some different liveries though

Files needs to prove himself against stiffer competition first before WTCR. He was speedy during the Dubai TCR round, but won TCR Germany against a field that is majority amateurs. I agree about Tassi, though.
