Formula Ford results

Hello

Where can i find FF1600 results from 1967 forward on the
internet?

Mainly iterested in UK 1977 season, orange Tiga 1977 driver unknown.

And in UK 1985 season, Tim A Jones dark green/white RF85.

What UK FF1600 championchips where run in 1977 and 1985?

I don't know who drove it in 1977.
I only have the swedish history from 1978-2003.
car has orange gelcoat. I doubt that it was changed when sold in 1977/78. I can trace all the paint layers back to 1978!

I am thinking of starting an archive from the MSA group to hold all results of as many championships as possible from this year on.

In 20 years time could be interesting to look back.

the question is will MSA provide me with the data and let me archive it....

Milldent motorsport

Hello

Some news regarding the history of my RF-85

I got some old setup notes and results yesterday and there was a setupsheet from Milldent Motorsport a search on the web gave http://www.grandprix.com/gpe/cref-farste.html

" in 1985 the Farrell Brothers established Milldent Motorsport in Hinckley, Leicestershire, to prepare cars for up-and-coming racers. Business boomed for a while and the business expanded to running Formula Ford 1600 and Formula Ford 2000 machinery"

Any ideas on how to get in touch with any of the old employees or is Milldent motorsport still in business?

Off the top of my head, I think Milldent drivers in 1985 included D Hill and M Blundell at various times

I have loads of FF championship tables 1967-76.There were FOUR national championships at one time in england alone, plus several regional ones.I moved on to FF2000 & F3 around mid 70s.Best Tiga I remember was James Weaver who had a red & yellow one.HHTech I think you need to discover the original owner of yours before its worth looking at results.

Weavers was an FF79, very quick, though how much was down to him or the car I don't know. In view of his later career, I suggest it was him more than the car ...

First apperance of a Tiga FF seems to be 1976.One David Lang won 2 rounds of the 'Star of Tomorrow 'series, then a 2nd in the MCD main championship.

Milldent Motorsport are long since gone... Malcolm Oastler of BAR fame also worked for Milldent, Chris Farrell ran in the Star of Mallory series in a Royale RP31 in 82/83.

Bill Coombs also ran a Tiga, but i think he was around at the same time as James Weaver. Did they run in Scorpion Racing colours? Also i remember a Graham Harry in a Tiga, don't know the year though....

Hello

I got in touch with Steve Farrell the owner of Milldent motorsport

"Of course I remember this car very well. I was the owner of Milldent Motorsport which operated from 1983 through to the end of 1987. In 1985 I bought two RF85s; one for Perry McCarthy and the other for a black guy (I think we called him TJ!). The other guy ran out of money half way through the year and Tim came to us late in the year, primarily for the Festival. He then stayed with us to do FF2000 the year after (in fact I have photos of us at the Jyllandsringen in 1986).

Malcolm Oastler (who was Technical Director of BAR, and is now Chief Engineer at Jaguar F1) was the mechanic for Perry, and Malcolm's brother Mark was the mechanic on your car. Mark now does TV commentating for Aussie V8 racing."

Nice, now I have a comlete history of the car I bought for spares and can now restore it an form a two car RF-85 team.

Anyone have any results from 1985?

The 1977 history of my Tiga is still blank.

There was an orange and white Tiga ran in British FF in 78 or 79 as I vaguely remember. The driver was a little guy called Chris Reynalds.

David Lang was well thought of in 76, he won a few races in his first year racing over here in the Dunlop SoT series. He was an Aussie as I recall, I guess thats how he ended up with a Tiga in their first year, and of the SoT series. It was won bu Sean Walker as I remember with a Royale.

Strangely the next year, 77, Lang was in Rallying as part of a 'Ford backs young talent' type team, alongside Tim Brise (mentioned on other thread recently), and one Malcolm Wilson. Don't know what happened to Lang after, but he must have been a pretty talented guy to do well in FF and Rallying. Any of our Oz friends know any more.

Bill Coombes Tiga, was I think, the next year, 77, when he raced against Willie T Ribbs amongst others. He was the first black driver I remember, rumoured to be connected to Muhalled Ali.

Tiga FF1600

Hello
I just put my Tiga together after painting the bodywork.
This is what it should have looked when it left the factory and in the 1977 season exept for stripes etc
Not sure if I have the correct x-tra air inlet.
Any recolection of a orange Tiga in 1977?

If you PM me I'll pass on his telephone number.

Randy Blomquist San Diego USA FF76
Chris Williams UK FF77
Chris Cooke UK FF77
F&S Properties Joop Van Der Sluis Amsterdam FF77
